-It's hard to eat enough…. Like really hard. Feels like all I do is eat. Assuming that will get easier at some point

No... No it won't. It will become one of the most miserable parts of your day. Getting enough "clean" calories is miserable. I think if I never eat another bite of chicken and I know if I never have another protein shake in my life... I'll be just fine.

Ouch. Extra kick in the nuts was reading this as I'm eating 3 chicken drumsticks

I've gotten to where I eat a half pound of ground chicken every afternoon and I don't even heat it up.

I feel like a monster but at this point it's just something I've got to get done.

I intermittent fast and my first meal is lunch. Most days, I eat roughly 1lb of grass fed ground beef to kick start with 80g of protein. Protein shake a few hours later gets me another 30-40. Dinner gets me to roughly my weight in protein target.

It's definitely not easy but it's doable if you cut out all of the unnecessary carbs people like to have with meals.

Carbs are my hardest macro to hit. I dont love bread, rice, potatoes. I'll be at 1g protein/lb as soon as I drink my shake mid afternoon, and struggle at the end of the day to get my carbs up.

Apparently the only carbs I ate were Dr Pepper, chips and candy

What about other grains?

Farro
Quinoa
Risotto
Lentils

Replace all of that with whatever fruit you like. It works well for me and is enjoyable if you want something sweet.

I go through multiple containers of blueberries, clementines, apples, and bananas between regular consumption and smoothies.

Edit: Multiple containers every week.

Ronnie Coleman was wrong about being a bodybuilders. It's not the heavy weight, it's the eating.

    tandy, thanks for starting this. my initial questions/feedback;
-do you plan on running up/down bleachers or just walking
    -you have a good natural base physique; hard to tell from photos but I'd suggest pullups to develop your back;
;stronglift and eating should help your quads
-suggest keeping track of your VO2 Max
-time your carbs to fuel your workouts
-as long as you are eating real, non-processed food and avoiding added sugar, eat as many calories as you possibly can

    keep hammering

Walking for now, running corners between bleachers. Avg HR is already 160+. Would like to start sprinting them eventually

Which stronglift day would you add it to?

-suggest keeping track of your VO2 Max
VO2 max has dropped from 50 to 43 since i got watch.

-time your carbs to fuel your workouts

Don't over think the carb loading for what you're doing. I workout both fasted and unfasted and honestly haven't noticed a difference. I think the research supports building up muscle glycogen ahead of endurance activities but I could be wrong on that.

Trial and error is your friend. Do what feels best.

Yeah, it uses HRV and then calculates based on a baseline of your HRV while sleeping. There is a bit of a black box method to it, but it can be directionally helpful as a trend.

All of my hobbies are pretty active. Other than the 8 hours I sit at my desk I'm not inside very much.

Here is last 7 days by day. Yesterday is high bc I did a lot of push mowing after work

Ah that makes sense. I thought the 2K was all active burn calories, and was wondering what you do daily to burn up 2K+ from activity. But that chart makes more sense

    Killing it!

How's your energy? Weight staying stable?
    tandy miller
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Energy is actually more stable throughout day than it has ever been.

Weight dipped a couple pounds early but seems to be creeping back up.

Feel good, and it's gotten much easier to motivate myself now that I've got some progress under my belt.

I feel better mentally also. My self discipline was non existent going into this… doing all this stuff I don't necessarily want to has been great for it and just the way I think of myself in general.
    CC09LawAg
How long do you want to ignore this user?
The nice thing about making progress is it holds you accountable to keep going - because it's real easy to lose it all, and you know how hard it is to get it back.

When I'm feeling lazy I think about the 3 years I have put into this and ask myself if I want to throw all of that away and go back to how things were, and the answer is HELL NO.
