I feel like everyone that has a destination wedding ends up divorced. It's the ultimate narcissistic move imo. Get tons of people to fork over a ton of money to watch a day all about you, instead of doing something much more accessible to friends and family.

We didn't have a destination wedding, but we did have an open bar with a tab up to $3000 available.

By gawd, our friends didn't almost hit it, and this was back in the 00s. Bunch of damned drunks.

I don't think you could call mine a destination, even though half had to travel. Wife is from Massachusetts and wanted a fall Mass wedding, which I get. It was a beautiful setting and all her family is up there and she had just moved away to be with me so it made sense.

I've been to two destination weddings and both couples ended up divorced. Small sample size, but batting 1.000.

The out of country destination weddings are something our parents would have mostly thought preposterous back in their day. Our grandparents? LOL forget about it.

Indicating we are probably on the third rung of this cycle, quickly approaching the 4th
