I can find the exact same La-Z-Boy recliners in other furniture stores for a LOT less money. Like half.

Went in there this past weekend with my elderly Dad. He wanted a lift chair.
They were crazy prices. He still bought one, because the "Memorial Day Sale" took $1,500 off his $3,200 chair.

I just kept my mouth shut and vowed to never buy anything in there.

I would guess cocaine, X, and Molly are marked up quite a bit as well. I wouldn't know though lol. Not even sure if these are different drugs or not.

Wow. The furniture stores on the bypass seem to be doing ok. Also Star and that one in Wellborn. What happened with Haverty's?

Not local and perhaps purely anecdotal but I was just having a converstation two days ago about furniture sales randomly.

My BIL owns a brick and mortar store in Waco and my cousin owns a store in Frisco and I was informed that they are both struggling really bad right now.

-Outrageous typically.

-Depends on the brand. Still outrageous typically.

-25 in a 750 ml bottle. The margins are insane, especially for sporting events and concerts but that's not breaking news.

And the markup is ridiculous at independent liquor stores.

Taste of the Tropics is the only original food vendor left.

The Mall needs revitalization. Other places know this and do this.

CBL won't do it. They are a "squeeze the most we can out if a struggling property" company.

The city buying Macy's hurts things as well. The same decline happened to many malls in the Houston area.

Curious how the city's new project to create a redevelopment plan for the Harvey corridor plays out. I could see a scenario where the city decides that the mall doesn't fit with the "mixed use development" vision and CBL suddenly gets incentives to tear it all down and turn it into something that fits the vision.

I could also see it becoming something like midtown CS where COCS spends the next decade trying to find anyone who actually wants to build there according to their vision.
