Cross Post from Home Improvement.

Howdy! We have approx 2,600 sq ft of wood floors. We have had an iRobot w/ self empty for several years. The poor thing is just not cutting it any more, the new robots have far higher suctions. Also, with iRobot in bankruptcy do not want to go there.

Problem is looking at the reviews of even the highest rated robots on Amazon. Even the best get +10% or higher 1 stars. I have always had a cutoff of 5% 1 Star as the max I would go when purchasing a new product. The best ones do not seem to be able to get but about 70% 5's.

So, what if any, is the best robot?? I am really confused and do REALLY need a new one. We are late 70's and cleaning this much hard wood weakly is a Big strain on my wife.

Please let me know your thoughts!!!

Here because Outdoors knows stuff!

Just bought the new Shark at CostCo. Will update you ASAP, but it's CostCo so I feel that if it's not cutting the mustard before 1 year is up, we'll take it back and get store credit for it and try again.

I have 2 of these in my house and love them. Only complaint is they can get stuck sometimes, but it is not so often I would complain about it. Having the app is nice and you can schedule it and divide the house up into sections and such.

It doesn't have the bells and whistles of some, but for the money, I don't think it can be beat. 4 years and going strong taking care of our hardwood + tile 2500sqft house. For the price of others, you could buy multiple of these and sync them to run simultaneously.

We got a roborock Saros 10R for 33% off during Amazon's sale before Black Friday, and it has been awesome! Our house is mostly hard wood and rugs and it has made our floors so much more pleasant. My wife and I hate mopping so it just doesn't get done as often as necessary and this robot seems to take care of the issue.

When I did my research a couple of years ago the Roborock's were the best for the price. They have a ton of different models which can make things confusing. Figure out what features you want and find the model that matches. I'd definitely get one that's self emptying. The little bins in these things can fill up in a day if you have pets/kids. Mine I just have to change out the vacuum bag every two months.

I haven't had a single issue with mine. It was easy to map out everything and set zones. Once I set a couple of no go zones for problem areas it almost never gets stuck. I haven't had to fix anything, just standard maintenance of replacing brushes a couple of times. Only issues are when kids leave a sock or charging cable on the ground it sucks those up.

I refuse to use Amazon reviews as the basis for my purchase. Look up reviews elsewhere, or read all of the 1 star reviews on Amazon. Its usually a person of an older generation yelling at the clouds about something that has nothing to do with the product itself (I had to drive to town to return the item, but UPS delivered it to my door; it didnt get here when I thought it should; USPS destroyed the package in shipping; I hit 1 star instead of 5- oops; the chips weren't the flavor I expected (on a vacuum review); etc)

We got a Roborock Q5 Max, as that particular model was supposed to be the best for pet hair. I'm amazed at how much dog hair it picks up daily. We do the hard floors everyday, and the whole house twice a week.

Roborock's refurb store on eBay knocks a huge chunk off. They all have issues no matter the brand, but I like getting the additional features for a lower cost. They run periodic sales too that knocks them down even further. Got mine for around 50% off new price, basically came in new

Roborock. Get a model with spinning mop heads if you are going to use the mopping function.

I have 2 cats and a dog, and occasionally have 2 extra dogs. The Shark seems to handle all of it with no problems.

I "inherited" a Shark (don't know the model, but it's at least 5-6 years old). Really was never used (technology challenged grandparents).

Went to go use it. Dock works and lights up, but vacuum does nothing. Best I can tell is a battery issue. Would it be better to get a replacement battery or decide on something new?

I went back and forth on roborock and iRobot and I should've done the roborock. I went with iRobot for familiarity but I've been disappointed with its overall performance. I have a set schedule for it that it has not run in weeks for reasons unknown to me. I just haven't taken the time to mess with it bc I've been annoyed with it.

Batteries are cheap on amazon. Make sure the power button on the unit itself is on.

Roborock without question. We had a Roborock that unfortunately went through dog poop so we switched to the Roomba with the camera to avoid another incident, but I wish I had purchased another Roborock. The Roborock app is 10x better than Roomba and I realize its model dependent, but our Roborock was quieter than the Roomba. If you arent in a rush, woot regularly has good deals on refurbished models

We have the hand scraped style engineered hardwood floors. I've been hesitant to get one with a mop function because I'm worried it'll ruin them if they get too wet. Is that stupid to worry about? We have basically no tile

I have a Roborock QRevo Slim. I had a high end Roomba that died after 7 months and the warranty claim was rejected.

The thing that amazed me with the Roborock is that i don't have to replace the wearable parts near as frequently as I did on the Roomba. On the Roborock, I easily get 6 months out of the side brush. I've run it 5 days per week and still don't need to replace the main brushes. So, I'm not getting nickled and dimed by the thing.

Also, the thing does really well to avoid getting stuck.

Roborock Q5, two dogs, hand scraped hardwood, tile, rugs, and spongey fatigue mats in kitchen. Works just fine. When emptying the base it looks like the bag is going to start barking there's so much dog hair. Think it was a Black Friday thing. Makes a big difference with the hair in between vacuuming.

Only issue we've had is a random chunk or rope piece off a chew toy getting stuck. Just popped it out and let it continue.

we used to have 2 neatos before we had kids. they both lasted about 3 years each and did tight patterns. rarely got stuck. they were worth every penny.

edit: well it looks like they went out of business, unfortunately.

Thanks for all of the input, reviewed ALL the models listed by y'all. Decided to go with the
roborock Qrevo Series Robot Vacuum and Mop. Got my fingers crossed!

We have the Roborock with the vacuum and mop. Works pretty well. For some reason, it doesn't reliably signal when the filter is clogged which can cause issues, so just cleaning your own.

We never actually use the mop function, but it probably can't hurt on an already clean floor.

I hope that day comes for your one day.

When it does be sure to get video and submit it to the OB

We have a self-emptying Shark, it's ok. Gets stuck on random objects and fills up fast (but that might be my stupid dogs fault).

I bought it on a Black Friday deal a few years ago with a lifetime warranty. We've already replaced one under it.
