Only been able to put about 7 hours in so far, but I just unlocked the wall jump. The movement in this game is incredibly polished. Even more so than Hollow Knight. Everything is so smooth and graceful.

I've now rage quit for a while. I hate bile water so much.

I hear there is an item that mitigates maggot water. I gave up on Sinner's Road pretty early. Will give it another try if I come across that item.

Got to Act 2 this weekend. I wasn't sure I was going to get through the Blasted Steps area either, but finally got that runback down enough to get through with no damage.

I have the item. It doesn't negate that the end of the level still sucks. monster box room + boss who is huge + has add mechanics overwhelms my old man brain. And the run back from the bench sucks because monsters aren't in static positions so one run to the next can be drastically different. At least the last judge run back, which is only comparably long distance from bench I can remember, you knew where the monsters were going to be so you had your planned route and could skip them all. Bile water BS with the bugs being in different places and then guys jumping out of the water (or not) then shooting you with seemingly hornet seeking darts in the back is infuriating. Add to this that the stupid bugs respawn if you kill them… just makes it not fun.

Sinner's Road was definitely annoying.

I freed the prisoner and have no idea what that did, but I assume it'll come into play at some point. Chose that door over the locked door in Deep Docks.

Curious your play time? It's crazy you're this far ahead of me and I'm probably over 40 hours in.

Yikes. I will definitely hold off on going back through that area after more upgrades. I just got another mask shard (first one in what feels like forever), but still 2 short of another mask.

I've been trying to stay as spoiler free as possible, just looking for tips on best ways to move forward. If I read correctly, the prisoner does give some additional lore on an act 2 boss. I beat that boss yesterday, but haven't freed the prisoner yet. Hopefully he'll give me the lore after I free him! Curious if there is more to him that I've managed to avoid.

Speaking of, I've only found one key so far. The simple key purchased in Bone Bottom, and I already used it…

Xbox app says 6 days, but I think a lot of that is because when you quit on xbox app on pc it still says "running".

Yesterday was the first day since release that I didn't play!

Holy moly. Mount Fay. If anyone can do the thing there (not saying spoilers) without looking it up online I tip my hat to you. I had to YouTube it and it was still awful.

True. I gave up on BW to go to MF so I could go back to BW with additional goodies. It helps but not as much as I hoped.

Ahhhhhhh finally beat the BW boss!

The High Hall gauntlet is killing me. I can't kill the two scorpions together at the end.

I've got a new rule of thumb. If a boss is near a transport and is getting annoying I mark it on the map and leave it for later. If it's far... Gotta grind it out.

The two gauntlets in Deep Docks (past the locked door) were pretty challenging...

Act 3 is no joke, my friends! I think I'm getting close to the end, see how much gas I have left for doing optional stuff before ending it!

I just finished fighting savage beastfly, and that was definitely the key. I didn't find him until after the needle upgrade, and I found it much easier than some of the other bosses. I can see where that would have been really annoying without the added damage, though.

So I have Savage Beastfly 2 in the Far Fields fight which I've only tried a couple times. (Currently still in Act 2.)

Just completed my seventh mask and I have 1 needle upgrade, so might be time to go try it again.

The first Beastfly fight was a nightmare for me without any needle upgrades, and a lot less tools. I probably fought it way too early.

I'm getting close to 20 hours into the original. I think I have all the powers unlocked now so I can finally start getting to areas that were previously unreachable.

The map is pretty dang big and it definitely takes time just to get to some points on the map. Really liking the game still, but you definitely have to pay attention because the game will not tell you where to go or what to do next.

High Halls Arena is some bullcrap.

Made it through the miniboss in wave 6 or so and though I was done. Apparently there's 11.

Yeah, that's ridiculous.

Finally got around to Hollow Knight these last two weeks. I one shot hornet my first time fighting her (both times you fight her). She was way easier than some of the other fights.

So I've been at High Halls arena for probably about 2 hours total.

I can make it to about the 7-8th wave fairly consistently now, but feel like I still have a ways to go...

Beat the act 2 boss last night. Going to do some map cleanup before I go into act 3. For the High Halls gauntlet room, Shakra jumped in and helped me with that one, so I cleared it first try. Not sure how many attempts it would have been without her!

Beat Last Judge last night. You're right, that was a tough fight. Phase 1 wasn't too bad, but Phase 2 took time to learn the patterns. That's where the double damage really hurts. You die so quick on something you haven't seen before and don't have time to learn it.

I also died once on the death explosion. Controller almost went through the desk with that one. Luckily, I beat it in the next couple of tries.

Just "beat" Hollow Knight the other day (98%), but haven't done path of pain, radiance, godhome, etc...

Put that endgame grind on pause and hopped over to Silksong. Loving how fluidly this one plays in comparison. Soundtrack is amazing.

Very nice. I'm still grinding through it. I've only gotten stuck on 1 boss where I had to go back a dozen times before I figured out the pattern. But I'm spending SO much time backtracking to old areas. I'm a sucker for discovering all the secrets in these Metroid like games.

I think I'm getting close to the end, but every time I think that I unlock a completely new area.
