Without spoiling too much, you won't have to deal with diagonal pogo for too long...

Im at a boss and I think its the big one between big parts of the story. Ive scoured the map and there doesn't seem to be anything left to find without going online and spoiling everything, but I'm getting close to having to do that. A couple hours of the tough trip from the bench to the boss and then a hell of a boss fight are wearing out my resolve to beat the game without spoilers.

Saw some gameplay videos. Man...what kinda BS is this?
I guess this is a save spot, but its actually a death trap like a dark souls chest mimic?

To avoid spoilers: Fire mace guy? Key is be patient. I found only attacking when he jumps and just dodge the other attacks to be the best strategy. You can skip all the mobs between bench and him takes about one minute to get back to him. And yes, opens up again once you beat him.

That's the one. He's a buttface. I've gotten him to the 3rd stage once and but I was on my last mask so didn't last long.

I have no idea how close I am to Act 2, but I recently got thrown into The Slab. Fun getting out.

I'm going to have his opening sounds stuck in my head for a long time given how many tries I took to beat him lol.
Seriously though, use wanderers crest and only attack on the jumps. Jump when the fire comes out and it should miss you and you can get at least 4 or 5 hits in. Should mostly recharge your silk too so you can keep healed up. Pro tip: after you beat him move away from him or you'll end up like me having to fight him another obscene amount of times.

Right now I'd probably say HK. I want to say SS because I love the game, mostly… and it's way bigger than HK, but the fact that I've been stuck on a few bosses now for HOURS is taking some of the shine off SS. Don't remember ever being stuck that long on a boss in HK. And it's not like it's because they are doing some crazy attack I haven't seen or don't know how to dodge, it's just the fact that most moves they have take two masks of damage and if you make one mistake you can get stun locked and back to the bench. Case in point last night I spent like four (i know, dumb) hours on one boss because inevitably during my run I'd get hit by a random grenade he tossed while watching him to see if his next move was going to be tornados or explosions or whatever. Once I got hit by the grenade it was pretty much game over because I'd then get hit by the next attack whatever it was lol. Have been a few bosses like that. Just feels over punishing. Like crap just bouncing around the arena should do one mask of damage. Save two masks for actual attacks. I'm hopeful they'll do some kind of balance pass and ease the difficulty on some of this stuff or I don't know how any sane people are going to finish this game. *****ing about that boss aside, the fist boss in act2 was absolutely amazing. Sound, visuals, fairness… died a few times while learning the patterns, but was able to win in a short amount of time once I'd learned them. Not like the BS guy I fought last night.
TLDR: I want it to be SS, but it's HK at this moment.
