Whether he "demanded" it or not, Trump is one of the few people on the planet to be such a 7 year old to be pleased to "receive" the award this way. Virtually anyone else would have found it awkward and unwanted at best and most would refuse it outright.

The award itself is a joke without Trump adding to it. Kissinger got it with a mountain of blood on his hands. Obama got it for being black while elected and at least had the decency to say it wasn't deserved.

No one believes you. There is no reliable report of Trump ever refusing the offer or pushing back in any way. This isn't a one off. Trump is a proven narcissist and manchild. He actively campaigned to receive the award. He said before receiving it that he would accept the prize if machado offered it.

And yes. Virtually everyone would refuse the award even when "pushed" (he wasn't) It's part of not being a child.

And it's not lost on me your sad attempt to put forth acceptance and smashing the award as the only alternatives. Almost anyone would give a polite refusal in the same situation.

I agree with you. I am a 3 time Trump voter, but this episode made him look silly. Whether a Nobel means anything is a different discussion but him being so thrilled to get someone else's medal made him look really bad. The jokes are well-deserved.

That said, even Obama looked like an idiot to get a NPP for nothing.

Well.... we know what we were getting with Trump. I am willing to look past all this and focus on his agenda of reform.

Trump deposes the leader of the country clearing the way for the opposition leader(s) to assume power democratically, said opposition is the current Nobel prize winner, that recipient said from the day she was announced the winner that Trump was more deserving (this before he arrested Maduro), several months later at meeting between two she presents her medal along with a certificate to Trump thanking him, and it's Trump or is immature and "silly" for graciously accepting?

1) Trump has done amazing things with immigration, and anti-drug/anti-terror (etc) actions around the world. His fiscal liberalism notwithstanding.

2) Her getting the award was warranted and justified, and she can do what she wants with the physical reward ( medal/certificate), up to and including throwing it away in a dumpster, giving it away, or melting it down for a sweet-ass "grill" to wear whenever she wants.

3) It was silly for Trump to "graciously accept" it. It's just as easy to "graciously decline". But, he is a known quantity of narcissism, and this all fits that quite logically.

4) It's a minor thing and doesn't take away from 1, since it is a known quantity.

I mean at least this is a real award and not one FIFA invented to suck up to him.

Trump could have easily said "no thank you, you deserve this award," and thought it's the gesture that counts. Instead, he comes off as the child you give an ice cream cone to just so they'll shut the **** up.

If he did, I missed it. If I was Obama, I would have refused to accept it and done it respectfully. There is no doubt that it was a DEI award.

I actually think Trump asked her to hand over the medal behind the scenes,and then they made it look like she was giving her award to him. This seems to be the most plausible thing to happen. I don't think anyone would give out a Nobel Prize to someone else. I think he basically got her to give it to him.

If she offered it to him, he should have politely refused.

After all this, he did is NOT a NPP winner. It won't show up in historical record. So he just looks bad.

Still... I am a Trump supporter for his agenda, not for him as a person.
