They showed a shot a few minutes ago where he locked his grip in and just slowly lifted his whole body weight with one hand and it never moved a mm. He's a freak of nature. His hands are like a vise.

His approach is slow and methodical. He's like a machine honestly.

It's such a conundrum to me. The overall act itself is insane but his methods are precise, measured, and confident. Always. Doing one of the most dangerous things a human can do, but doing it in the most safe way possible by trusting his skills, experience, and his body.

I've seen quite a few of his interviews and one thing always stuck out. When he talks about his "oh ****" moments, it's always stuff outside his control. Almost always deceptively weak holds that break off. I can't recall a single time he has mentioned having a moment where he thought HE would physically fail and end up perishing.

Agreed. This one isn't stressful for me. Its all repetitive, so once he finishes a subsection, you know he's got it.

If I wanted to get to the top of Taipei 101, I would simply take the elevator .

But this is nuts. I wouldn't do this with all the harnesses and wires in the world with a guarantee I'd survive

My worry is they call it due to winds or weather on the finl pitch.

I was in the tower a couple years ago and even the elevator ride to the top made me nervous!

In contracts, I refer to as "mile deep and inch wide". It it happens, it's catastrophic, but it's very unlikely to happen.

It was nerve-wracking, I couldn't watch for most of the middle part. I kept refreshing Twitter and when he was basically at the spire with the top deck right there, I was able to tune back in.

If there was a way to climb to heaven, there's only one man in the world who could pull it off.

But that is an amazing super human feat. Glad we watched it live. Now let's get him to climb the top of Rudder!

And LOL when he got to the very top and held on to that little dinky antenna or lightning rod.

I avoided that show as it stresses me out. Hell my hands started sweating just reading through this thread.

I waited til it was over went to it and skipped through in about 10 minutes and still experienced more anxiety that i wanted.

Unfortunately there is a 99.99% chance that his ultimate cause of death will not be climbing but falling.

Odds catch up with everyone. Very few high risk climbers retire.

But I'm glad it was not today.
