If you're an Gen X'er then a little piece of your childhood is gone today.

RIP Buck Rogers.

I will look at Erin Gray pics in your memory.

Same here. Along with Battlestar Galactica and Dukes of Hazzard

Buck Rogers had it great in space... wall-to-wall hotties up there. I'd never go home

Wrong person. Lee Majors was Steve Austin. Gil was Buck Rogers.

For the young boys, throw in a Twiki talking robot, but they knew they could also get the older boys/dads too with the hotties.

I remember Hawk's bad ass ship that clawed into Buck's

Yeah, I know. Getting them mixed up was the joke because they are kind of alike. Maybe it is too soon.

My brother and dad and I watched the hell out of Buck Rogers and the OG Battlestar Galactica.

In late 70s we used to joke about "What will 1987 be like" since the year is 1987 in the opening credits of Buck.

Today we joke about the insanity of the decisions of the government that wake him up.

he's from 500 years in the past and within the first episode they're letting him go on missions and fly spaceships.

It's like Spain unfreezing Cortes and saying, "OK, let's get this guy to a naval base and have him get an air craft carrier."

I will say to my dying that few things on TV have scared the **** out of me like the space vampire.

Finally, here's Buck starting a galaxy-wide war by dancing.

The late 70s were simply an awesome time to be a kid. Star Wars on the big screen. Battlestar Galactica and Buck Rogers on the small screen. Then Galactica 1980 came along and left a giant turd on all that greatness.

Don't know that I'd call Gary Coleman a "hottie," and the idea he was on the show to get older boys/dads to watch is really unsettling.

I loved Erin Gray on this and Silver Spoons, but if Ardala had come correct like that when I got captured, I would have defected to the Draconian Empire in about 30 seconds.

we actually had a couple of the toys from the show. I dug the guy Hawk, but they went full Star Trek that second year with the idiot admiral, the idiot doctor/scientist guy, and the C3PO nerd robot - that was hard to take.

You could do a Conan O'Brien "Walker Texas Ranger" button/lever with Buck moments and it would never get old.

Lives much better in my old memory. Think I'll keep it there. Except for the Erin Grey photos- those hold up

That clip was horrible.

I forgot about Space Vampire! I must have purged that from memory because it scared the **** out of me as well.

I didn't realize until this thread that I have a friend that looks identical to Erin Gray back then. Kind of mind blowing.

Also, for anyone that wants to scratch their Buck Rogers itch, I would give Farscape a try. It's a bit older now but it's one of my favorite sci-fi shows and borrows the Buck Rogers concept to some degree.

My wife became really good friends with the little person, Felix Silla, that played Twiki. He was also one of the Ewoks in ROTJ. My wife worked for an Ad agency that put on a Comic Con and she was assigned to manage him. He was a really sweet and funny guy.

And boy was Gil Gerard a very handsome man.
