Use to say this to my parents when they would ask me to do something

"Oh, jeez! Look at the time. I gotta get to bed. Brush my teeth. Feed the hog. I've still got some homework to do. Do the laundry. Wash the car. I've still got those bills to pay"

"That's pretty low mister, If I had a rubber hose I would beat you..."
Whenever I get annoyed at someone, one of my go-to quotes is "if I had a rubber hose I would beat you!" I'm always gratified by how many people recognize it. So funny and perfectly delivered by Alexander Folk.

Wife and I were in Germany through late last week and watched it one night on the hotel tv in German. We knew it well enough to know what all was said and it was pretty funny sounding with German actor voices. Ellen said "Spaaaahky" every time she said his name and then the carpet wet Todd part he said " I don't know Margooooooo" in a high octave haha.

Fun fact - I named one of my dogs Clark. The decision was 100% so that I could say "Are you serious, Clark?" year round in daily adult conversation.

That might make me Cousin Eddie, but I'm perfectly fine with that association.

I love that part.. so inappropriate!

And the rubber sheets and gerbils. Man some of this stuff is hopefully over my 9 and 11 year old boys heads for a while!

What's wrong with the rubber sheets and gerbils? I always took it to mean that his kids were bed wetters and that they had gerbils…reinforcing that they are the worse guests you could have in your house.

.
really… him saying it the way he does makes you think of bedwetters??!?

Ironically, there was a bed wetting scene that was cut; but I'm betting it was no accident Randy delivered the line the way he does and they cut the scene.
Remember, cousin Eddie taught his daughter how to French kiss, per the first one.

This gerbil business is implying Richard Gere stuff!

I thought that when I was younger but I really think the Eddie in this version is much cleaner than the vacation Eddie. All around it's a cleaner movie. I really think it was a reference to their kids pissing in the Griswold's beds.

I couldn't even begin to count how many times I've done that.

That line just kills me.

watching it currently and after paying attention during this scene, it all makes sense now.

Eddie says/asks if the kids could stay in the home, because him and wife hadn't had any alone time in a while. Grandpa and Beverly both agree 'there's plenty of room', so kids are invited to sleep inside.
So now Eddie is giddy and excited that he'll get to be alone with wife in the rv. So he has that excited tone in his voice while saying to wife to get rubber sheets and gerbils; in other words let's get the kids stuff out of rv so we can be alone.

Coincidentally, home alone 2; the uncle walks by fuller chugging a coke, and grabs it while saying 'easy on the fluids pal, the rubber sheets are already packed'
So again connecting rubber sheets to bedwetting, and not some weird fetish.

Call me enlightened.

Clark: What are we looking for?
Audrey: Sechs, Dad.
Clark: That'll do, Audrey.

European Vacation is the lesser of the Vacation trilogy (I don't count Vegas), but the Germany scenes were great.

I think this movie is funny, but I'm amused by the absolute obsession for people with it. I mean everybody needs to enjoy whatever movies they want but I think it's amusing, but I don't even think it's the best Vacation movie.

I agree. It may be a minority opinion, but I think the original Vacation is the best.

None of the sequels come close! I think it's more about people's love for the holiday.

This is how I feel about A Christmas Story, which is one of the worst movies ever created.

Just like the original vacation managed to encapsulate (albeit in a hilarious over-top-way) all of the genuine nostalgic horrors of long family car trips, Christmas Vacation did the same thing for Christmas, from family visiting to decorating to gifts to waiting on your bonus/work stuff. It's over the top but it really is relatable.

Yes. Still would so much.

Have y'all seen Jacqueline Smith lately?

She looks amazing.

This is just from about a month ago. She turned 80 in October 25. Holy ***** I always thought she was the prettiest of the angels.

This is a screen grab from a video of hers on Instagram and yes, she really looks like that.

I actually like a Christmas story but again I'm not as crazy about it as everybody else either. It's definitely cynical. It certainly has its moments though.

Bingo. I mean, you cannot beat dead Aunt Edna. The dog part is a little dark, but no animals were harmed…

The cop is funny in that part.
