This is crazy. We literally just started rewatching This is Spinal Tap an hour ago ahead of watching the sequel. GF and I talking about how crazy his directorial run was. Sad timing if what the speculation is ends up being true.

Yeah almost as soon as it happened there were rumors it was Nick. He's had quite a troubled life. The odds of a robbery where he lives are low, and a domestic with him and his wife seemed highly unlikely, so it made sense.
I didn't post them because it was not confirmed by any reputable sources. I would still wait for official confirmation.

Definitely not proud of it. Definitely tragic.

No forced entry, knowing that Brentwood isn't Compton, and knowing their ages, definitely the first place my mind went. (And the Menendez bros may have corrupted my mind).

Not really, but he did make a movie about his addiction problems a few years back, there was some talk about it then. I think at that point he was kind of painted as a rehabbed guy trying to tell his story with a semi happy ending, so after the movie it kind of fell off the radar again, at least for me.

Chill. I posted it simply because it was the first tweet I saw with the Being Charlie context. That said, as someone who can't stand Trump, even I thought Reiner had TDS/watched far too much MSNBC. Which is totally fine, and none of which takes away from how great of a filmmaker/actor he was, or how tragic this is, all of which is okay to discuss/acknowledge. I actually thought it was a relatively nice tweet in that regard.

I can't recall tonight where I recently saw this clip, but I found it made me smile.



I'm a Class of '80, so you can do the math of how old I am. Anyways, just by coincidence, I was channel surfing today (rare for me on a Sunday afternoon) and found a channel that was showing "100 episodes of The Dick Van Dyke Show", as Dick just turned 100. I loved that show - and i'm now dating myself. I'm old.

I did watch two episodes today. One was the classic Laura Petrie "cees and parrots" episode. The other was about an artist painting Laura - but the result was not what she expected. The artist was played by Carl Reiner. He was also the creator / producer of the show. Carl also played the star of the fictional TV show on which Rob (Dick) wrote for - The Alan Brady Show. Carl was one of those early titans of TV comedy in the beginning. Back then, comedy was funny, witty, and intelligent. Just a coincidence that I watched that today.

Rob Reiner was such a gifted movie guy and the son of a legend. We lost of good one today, in this entertainment world.

In the article the detective said there are other privacy issues in the house so they have to get a search warrant before conducting a thorough search of the house.

That means the suspect is/was living in the house.

Few people remember this, but several months after the debut of "All in the Family," Reiner guest-starred on an episode of "The Partridge Family" as a biker named Snake who has a crush on Laurie. Since "All in the Family" was still so new, he had not yet achieved the level of fame he would have soon.

Also had appearances on Gomer Pyle, Andy Griffith, Beverly Hillbillies and even Batman. And later after All in the Family started he did Rockford Files and The Odd Couple.
