You're inferring a lot that I didn't say and misinterpreting what I did say, but regardless, this isn't worth hijacking the thread over. I just wanted to state that there is some really gross bad theology in recent posts. Keep in mind I've explicitly said that the Bible doesn't rule out NHI. I'm just pushing back on the specific bad theology mentioned above.

As a Christian I have no issue with the possibility of other intelligence, but I do believe that any other intelligence that may exist is not and will never be the same type of thing as us. Jesus isn't dying for them and becoming one of them or anything like that. We as humans are very much the pinnacle of and reason for creation, ultimately.

Now back to hoping we get some inarguable proof of NHI sooner rather than later.

Also, you should check out Wes Huff. Your views of the Bible and questions about them are answered wonderfully by him. The idea that the Bible is a game of telephone that is not very reliable is, thankfully, not true.

Well, you've very succinctly summarized this little disagreement. I'll just state that about 300,000 years ago is when modern Homo sapiens appear, after millions of years of other hominids.

And before that, some evidence with I think more coming, of massive destruction not far from Mars.

If we believe in creation and God, then our little human-specific branch of hominin is far less than .01 % of the story of life.

Or perhaps, the Logos of John 1 has many creations, some faithful and some fallen, with a great many stories and appearances of His holy and highly personal Spirit.

The idea that mankind was not the whole point of God's creation is not remotely supported by Scripture. We are very much unique and intentionally made in his image and we're the entire point of creation. Can't go with you on where you are trying to go there.

Edit to add: I'm not saying that the Bible therefore prohibits belief in NHI. It doesn't. But the grounds on which a Christian believes or does not believe in any sort of NHI need to be based on a sound understanding of what the story of the Bible is (and is not).

If we learn we are not alone, I have zero doubt that all of the religions will be able to pivot accordingly.

...... but I'm someone who is more skeptical of organized religion than I am of aliens.

Amending my points above:

ancient Hebrew is not like English, tenses wise, not at all. So:
"At the origin: God, creating heaven and creating earth"
Combine with:
the very good arguments for "gap" of Gen. v1 and v2, where the earth became "formless and void"

This is IMO a cosmic story, with multiple cosmic wars and many cosmic beings, including Adam and Eve, hurled into our space / time from the 2nd Heaven of St. Paul

"thankfully, not true" = your opinion/belief. Not a historically settled fact of our existence.

Also, I've listened to Wes Huff plenty and, frankly, I kind of can't stand him. Like many Christians, he refuses to operate from a objective/scientific viewpoint. Instead, he's already decided that his religion/worldview is the correct one, then works backwards from there.

But whatever. I'm obviously not going to convince anyone here of anything when it comes to their own religion. Seeing as the whole point (though, I would argue, "flaw") is to remain utterly steadfast in your belief in the face of "secular" challenges/arguments like mine.

A typically good, Biblical, succinct explanation from Alberino.

" Four Alien Species? A Biblical Paradigm for Disclosure "

Including why the Logos of John 1 is the center and focus of the universe, not humanity - whose domain, Earth, is a battleground, but definitely not the only battleground

That's a wild criticism of Huff. He's a leading voice precisely because he's the opposite of what you just claimed him to be.

Anyhoo, back to aliens.

Not exactly right.

The actual quote belongs to the British scientist and geneticist J.B.S. Haldane. He wrote "The universe is not only queerer than we suppose, but queerer than we can suppose," in his 1927 book Possible Worlds and Other Essays.

Yes, but Haldane said it 30 years earlier. That's the quote I learned in astronomy class.

Psyop Cinema podcast and their small academic journal have the goods, despite being told to F off many times by FedGov:

Deep State is all over Hollywood, Speilberg is a major player

(not saying he's bad, which I don't believe - although there is a LOT of evil floating around now and historically)

Very important Michaels video, and very well done

Watch it before deriding "releases," and think through why your definition of Disclosure might well be impossible …. unless the public will shrug along with details of murder, kidnapping, human trafficking …. (I do not believe that)

we all seem to have our own definition of "disclosure".

But nothing on video is going to move the needle with the public at large. They don't know what they're looking at, there are always dissenting voices explaining away the strangeness as a camera malfunction or natural disturbance or the natural inclination to says "it's AI".

True Disclosure will require physical evidence, a declaration from POTUS or aliens landing at the Super Bowl.

This is laughable... video quality is the same **** we've been seeing since the 80's.

And as a kid from the 80's, I'm still waiting for the Acid Rain to ruin my life. This is nonsense, they aren't disclosing anything!

Tulsi Gabbard just resigned.

Do I think it means anything for this thread? No. She's resigning to take care of her husband who has cancer, apparently. But I know many people here will find that news to be interesting. In fact some will certainly claim it is more 100% proof of aliens. But either way, it's newsworthy at a mimimum.
