Part of the appeal is the veneer of authenticity to the pitch. Former United States Air Force officer and erstwhile UFO whistleblower David Grusch is said to be acting as a consultant on the project. Grusch made headlines in 2023 when he testified before Congress that the government has been studying the spacecraft and bodies of aliens, all the while suppressing leaks.

Between this and the Spielberg project - each likely releasing within a year or so of each other - there's definitely something in the air (no pun intended). Filmmakers of this caliber tackling the subject with this kind of weight and seriousness back-to-back is going to be incredible.

Just talked to my buddy who's going to be working on this. He worked on Top Gun: Maverick and the upcoming F1 as well (both directed by Kosinski), a few minor stories/details for which I've shared here on the board before. He actually has his own UFO story that happened to him and a friend 25+ years ago. Nothing super eventful, but definitely more than just a far-off sighting. Made the hair on my arms stand up when he recounted it one night at a bar. This is what he just said, re: this movie...

"My story is a 2 out of 10. The sh*t I've heard is a 15/10"

The soft disclosure prep via media you thinking? Does seem a little weird timing to have such heavyweights taking this on with all the rest piling on.

Possibly?

Reading the tea leaves, it sounds like Spielberg's movie is more of an original idea, and probably more of a traditional Spielberg blockbuster, focusing more on the human element than the sci-fi element. But with Grusch's involvement in the Bruckheimer/Kosinski project, I could definitely see that one - of the two movies - being part of some kind of official soft disclosure prep for sure.

Then again, to this day most experts/insiders say that Close Encounters of the Third Kind is the most accurate-to-real-life alien movie ever made, with official ties, for instance, to ufology legends J. Allen Hynek and Jacques Vallee. So maybe Spielberg is dipping into that well again here, going more Close Encounters than War of the Worlds, if that makes sense. We just don't have enough info yet, but the rumored title - Disclosure - is certainly intriguing.

Yet another worthwhile Jesse Michels interview, this one very "nuts and bolts," focused strictly on the government/defense contractors/legacy programs/etc...

These cover images/thumbnails are always so bad, btw, and not at all reflective of the tone of the interviews themselves. I get why damn near every content creator has to go this route, with the sensational headlines and the goofy facial expressions - it's what draws eyeballs and what the algorithm demands - but man they can look so dumb out of context.

I don't like the word "simulation" in this context, as it implies we're basically just 1s and 0s on some giant, higher dimensional hard drive, which I don't necessarily think is the case. But I'm seeing this basic idea expressed more and more - that we're essentially in a "lower" dimension and that there will eventually be a way to break free from it - which I find super interesting at its core...

Quote:

What if we're not the first to realize we're in a simulation?

Alright, I know I'm a way "out there" thinker, but hear me out. We always assume that if a civilization reaches a certain level of technological advancement, they must create simulations. That's the classic Bostrom argument...if simulating realities is possible, then statistically, we're almost certainly inside one.

But what if we're thinking about this all wrong?

What if a civilization before us reached this same realization…but instead of making a simulation, they figured out they were already in one? And then they left?

Really think about it. We've been toying with simulation theory, quantum weirdness, and consciousness anomalies more and more lately. But what if this happens to every advanced civilization? What if there's a point of no return...a stage where reality itself starts to unravel when you get too close to the truth?

Maybe that's the real answer to the Fermi Paradox. We don't see advanced civilizations because they don't stick around. Once they discover the simulation, they find the exit.

And what if we're at that threshold now?

The Mandela Effect, glitches in reality, the Oz Effect during UAP encounters, the growing suspicion that time and consciousness don't work the way we thought… what if these are signs that we're brushing up against the edge of the program?

What if every civilization that gets this far starts seeing the same things...anomalies, inconsistencies, eerie signs that something is off? And every time, those who figure it out disappear?

If they left, where did they go?

Did they ascend to a higher layer of reality? Did they break out of the simulation only to find themselves inside another one? Or did they simply cease to exist here the moment they crossed over?

Did they leave clues for us?

Maybe ancient texts weren't just metaphors. Maybe certain knowledge...hidden teachings, lost civilizations, inexplicable artifacts...are breadcrumbs left behind by those who escaped.

So here we are, approaching the same realization they did!

I'm a Catholic that believes in cosmic beings, and that angel / demon are, following the 2nd Temple era understanding, narrow terms (messenger, and their use of "demon" more specific than ours).

I think close Protestant textual readings, especially understandings of language and a 300 BC to 300 AD "mindset" (as Christianity and newly minted rabbinic Judaism became intractably divided) CAN be reconciled with the Apostolic (Catholic / Orthodox) mystical tradition.

Cosmic beings, some of which CAN embody.

- Anne Catherine Emmerich, Angelico Press ("planetary spirits")
- Michael Heiser, especially The Unseen Realm
- Tim Alberino, I especially recommend his appearances on Blurry Creatures podcast

That's a great interview with the director, who reveals that multiple interview subjects were threatened if they participated, and some even backed out.

The documentary itself premieres Sunday at SXSW, at which point we should start hearing more details.

The director also confirms that they don't yet have a distributor - which is often the point of film festivals like SXSW; to land one - but given the explosive nature of the doc, and seeing as the trailer below has a whopping "18 million viewers across all platforms, half of which were international," they should have no problem doing so...

I finally had a chance to listen and the word that kept coming to mind over and over again was profound.

A profound feeling is exactly what this interview elicits.

This **** is real.

It's inherent to all living things... to consciousness... to this reality... and especially to the afterlife/whatever reality lies beyond this one.

It's also part and parcel with "the phenomenon."

And any naysayers at this point are either ignorant to the facts or are simply in denial.

Regardless, it increasingly feels like we're in the very early stages of a massive, ontological change in the way we view/understand ourselves, what we're truly capable of, and our place in this universe. A change that, I believe - with the advent of AGI/ASI in the next few years, further revelations about NHI, the follow-up film Dickens is now making, etc - will soon be exponential in nature.

To that end, history will delineate before this period in time and after.

And we get to be alive for it.

Ah, yes, calling "nothing burger" before anyone's even seen it.

Definitely not a bias take at all.

Never mind the fact that the documentary even exists, and features 34 high-ranking government officials coming forward to say we're not alone, which, in and of itself, is the opposite of "nothing burger."

But sure, they're all either lying or being lied to, it's a psyop, it's China and they're all just idiots... yada, yada, yada.

Tim Alberino provides very good context for Christians who aren't mentally prepared for Disclosure.

I've also verified he does communicate with at least one believing Congressman who wants more transparency and appreciates his perspective. Here he goes over an academic paper that speculates about categories of existence.

Just finished the badly done free on Prime "doc" about Phil Schneider. It's worth the hour for the overview and pictures if you don't mind zero budget.

No way he committed suicide, and both he and his former Nazi to Paperclip father were both fully documented contractors.

It needs to be replicated by other research teams and published to be truly validated and accepted without reservation though. Until that happens, it will remain fringe and circumstantial. Just the way the world works, sadly.

Well yeah, extraordinary claims need extraordinary proof.

I fly a unicorn to work every day. What no one believes me? trust me i do and I wouldn't lie.

If telepathy really was happening, there would be so many documentaries about it yesterday. I watched nova for years, can't wait to see the telepathy episode, uhuh.

I'd be thrilled if the telepathy stuff was real, same as UAP's.

Right now, seems like everything is "right around the corner" and being dragged along. Meanwhile, "buy my book, listen to my show & attend my road $how" while I tell you what's really happening seems to be the order of the day.
