Dang, what did she die from?

It should not be allowed to have picks of celebrities that are 90 years old or older. It's like cheating.

Points are based on age, so guessing really old people is not going to get you much.

I was worried that it was Beverly D'Angelo, but it looks like she is still good.

I bet those tatas don't look as nice as they did in 1983 though.

I guess now is as good a time as any to tell my favorite Dolly fact.

Dolly doesn't use email. Like ever. When you get a letter from Dolly it comes in one of three ways. She types it up and prints it out to sign it. It then gets to you by one of the following methods

  • Snail Mail
  • Faxed
  • She gives it to her manager who then scans it back into the computer and emails it to you

I knew a fellow who worked for Dolly (had a band) for about 10 years at Dollywood. He couldn't say enough about what a fine person she is. You can tell when a hand is bs-ing; he wasn't bs-ing.

Legitimately one of the nicest and most genuine people no have ever met. She is also incredibly business savvy.

This sucks. Spaceman was always my favorite KISS persona.
I guess the devil DID play the card game with an Ace in his deck.

Eddie Trunk said Ace fell twice at home. The first fall, he recovered and was ok. The second fall, he hit his head and caused the brain bleed that ultimately ended it.

One of my favorite bands growing up in the late 70's. Finally got to see them live a few years ago. It was everything I had heard it was. Amazing. RIP Ace!

Local classic rock station playing an Ace Frehley tribute this morning. They played "Cold Gin," which I don't think I've ever heard on the radio before (Ace wrote it). Now they're playing "Detroit Rock City." Funny story about this song.

It was on the Destroyer album from 1976, produced by Bob Ezrin. When they were recording the song, it was night, and Ace had disappeared for the day. He was playing poker with friends. Ezrin was furious, and they recorded the song without Ace. Session guitarist Dick Wagner plays all of Ace's part on Detroit Rock City. You're not actually listening to Ace when you hear that song on the radio.

D.R.C. is over, and now they're playing "Lovegun."

Gene is such a control freak. Ace is probably drunk, high, or both.

Gene and Paul are sticks in the mud.

Saw Ace play at some club in Houston when I was a freshman at A&M ('93-94). Saw him again during the 1st KISS reunion tour in San Antonio in '96.

Probably my favorite song he wrote:

In high school, Cold Gin was in the rotation of songs I'd play with my friends. I used to know most of the first six studio albums. One of my favorites is "Hard Luck Woman." It isn't difficult at all, and sounds *awesome* on a 12 string. From my 8th grade guitar lesson notebook:

I love Parasite. Wanna hear a gem? Check out "Torpedo Girl" off of the horrible Unmasked album. Ace plays all of the guitars, the bass, and sings. Anton Fig (later in Dave Letterman's house band) plays the drums. This sounds nothing like Kiss.

No no no.

He said he showed Geddy Lee all kinds of stuff about music and how to play bass.
