What I always found funny about the video of the Marshall running the wrong way was that Billy Kilmer was the guy that caught the pass and fumbled. I grew up when Kilmer was a gimpy quarterback with the redskins so I find it funny that he had played as a receiver. Also, today this play would be reviewed for 10 minutes to determine what the final outcome should be. Marshall threw the ball backwards when he got to the end zone. The ball may have gone out of bounds. But him throwing the ball backwards was actually throwing the ball forwards. Don't know what the rules were like at that time but it should have been ruled an illegal lateral and a safety. It apparently was ruled a safety at the time but today there would be a long ref huddle to discuss because this was a most unusual play.
Well, once the ball crossed the plane, the play is dead, so it didn't matter which way he tossed it.

The play should not be ruled dead once he crossed the goal line. That was not his teams scoring end zone. It would be like a running back starting from his own 5 yd line retreating into the end zone to avoid a tackle or a qb dropping back to pass and retreating into the end zone.

That's a big one. The impact he had on music as a whole is stunning.

Paul McCartney said he was blown away by Pet Sounds and felt no music education was complete without listening to that album start to finish

Chip Howard Sports Talk today will be very Beach Boys heavy, even though it's All Willie Wednesday.

He's a huge Pet Sounds fan.

Most likely an OD, or suicide. Body was found in the bathroom "surrounded by dozens of pills".

Sad news in the music world today. Lalo Schifrin, dead at 93.
Quote:

Schifrin's best known compositions included the themes from the tv series Mission: Impossible, Mannix, Planet of the Apes, and Starsky and Hutch as well as the scores to the films Dark Intruder (1965), Cool Hand Luke (1967), Bullitt (1968), Eye of the Cat (1969), THX 1138 (1971), Enter the Dragon (1973), The Four Musketeers (1974), Voyage of the Damned (1976), The Eagle Has Landed (1976), Day of the Animals (1977), The Manitou (1978), The Amityville Horror (1979), Amityville II: The Possession (1982), Class of 1984 (1984) and the Rush Hour trilogy (19982007). Schifrin was also noted for collaborations with Clint Eastwood from the late 1960s to the 1980s, particularly the Dirty Harry series of films. He composed the Paramount Pictures fanfare used from 1976 to 2004. His final work was the main title theme for the anthology horror film Tales of Halloween (2015). He was a five-time Grammy Award winner; he was nominated for six Academy Awards and four Emmy Awards.

On a side note, there are some great Youtube videos touring the Hollywood Forever cemetery. It was founded as the Hollwood Cemetery in 1897 and is the only cemetery in Hollywood itself. It is right next to Paramount Studios. It was the popular place for Hollywood and other celebrities to be buried for decades, especially from the 1920s - 1980s. It fell into disrepair and many of the monuments and internment areas were crumbling. It was purchased by another company who has renovated the entire grounds in honor of those laid to rest there and has become a popular cemetery once again. Have been going down rabbit holes to research some of these forgotten stars.
