Duchene's designation is retroactive. He could theoretically play tomorrow.
He was a full participant in practice yesterday and should be ready to go soon.
The LTIR designation gives them cap room to call up a defenseman or two.

Yeah, the DLLS podcast talked about it. All of the injuries on defense is causing them to make these retroactive IR moves to free up cap space to bring up d-men from the AHL. Will be interesting to see what they do with Benn coming back into the line up.

I think he'll really help the bottom two lines. He's going to provide an increased physical and skilled presence to the bottom six. As much as a like Back, Bourque, Hryck, Blackwell and Faksa, I think adding Benn to that mix will help in all facets.

Might actually help PP2 as well and give them a little more on-ice time (but that may not be until Duchy comes back as well).

Hard to argue with playing PP1 so much with how good they're doing, but load management has to come into play at some point during the season.

my wife and I were talking about it the other day about Ralph and Razor...they really did teach us hockey in those early Stars years. hearing Ralph do a little pbp last game brought a huge smile to both of us
