Frusina for Auburn was excessively enthusiastic. Was worried Roddick might get penalized in his 3rd set; he seemed pretty upset after a call by the chair. Tokac had 2 match points in his second set. It was closer than 5-2 with 3 matches going to a 3rd set.

I am shocked JC lost that match. Definitely allowed Frusina to get under his skin.

I was shocked as well. Frusina is from Conroe so I'm sure he had some motivation to play well against the "hometown" team. I think Roddick wins that match 9 of 10 times.

Overall, I agree that it was closer than 5-2 indicates, and it seems Auburn is pretty young overall. Will be interesting to see if that roster develops over the next two years.

Tomorrow will be interesting with Florida.

Need to figure out how to win a doubles point. Last year's women's team struggled to win a doubles point, too, but were so strong in singles they could win most matches. Looks like the men are similar as well. Ended in a natty though so I would be fine with no doubles wins haha

Auburn has had a young roster for a few years now, they have a problem with retention. Not sure if that will chang for them.

Ags takes the doubles from Florida. Courts 2 & 3 wins.

Have a question - Magadan is an incredible doubles player. Why hasn't he factored into the doubles?

Skrobarcek played better than JC Thursday night, yet he got pulled today from doubles. Again, doesn't make sense.

I always hate when this happens. This is a college sport. Yes it's tennis, but it still has to be treated like a college sport. Last year's NCAAs where so bad with this, there was rarely a match that I attended where an official fan warning wasn't issued.

The Aggies take on the Rice Owls tonight at 6 at the Mitchell Tennis Center.

Aggies collapse on court 3 doubles in the tiebreaker and lose the doubles point to Rice.

That was the definition and result of two singles players playing together that don't understand doubles. That was hard to watch.

We are bouncing back in singles winning 5 of the 6 first sets. Good to see.

Yeah - nice to see one or two new faces out there, too. I thought Ritesh was originally in the lineup, though.

I am not totally sure, but I think we chose to sit at least one guy in order not to exceed number of allowed matches later in the year.

I think I saw Ritesh listed too on Live Stats as a singles player right when doubles play started.

Ags win all 6 singles matches against Rice and win 6-1.

Really need to figure out doubles. Getting behind 1-0 after dubs will hurt us big time in conference play.

I think they need to incorporate Alan into the doubles lineup eventually. He's too good to sit. If this team becomes dominate at doubles which I think they can, it's hard to find 3, even 4 singles points.

Do you know if anything happened to Gulio? He has regressed so much since year 1. Crazy that he was once the #3 prospect in the country

Coaches are working hard to get him back up to speed. Some of the problem may be mental, like a golfer getting the yips or a basketball player not hitting open shots. We definitely need him going forward.

I just think that you have to go with what's been working. Not winning, but working. Won't win them all.

Today was a good chance to get at least two teams some good reps. Instead you split up JC/Lathan into two teams that found out they're playing together yesterday. I do understand that you want to rest guys, and that's fine. But making all brand new teams is dumb.

Lathan is one of the top 3 doubles only players on the team. The coaches have said that. Leave him and JC together and get a good match before SEC this weekend.

Agree - if we've decided on Lathan in doubles (very well deserved), he needs to play with a partner that values him. There is nothing worse than playing doubles with someone that thinks they are too good to play with you, doesn't communicate, and looks like they are miserable being out there (shoulders down, negative talk, etc).

Watching the last match was pretty illuminating. Might have been a bad day, but the pair playing doubles at line 3 are not doubles players. Two good singles players trying to get over the hump. Too many missed easy volleys, positioning was awful, returns straight to the net player. They didn't really seem to vibe as a team either.

I do think playing Rice was a good opportunity to try some new combos to see if something would work. Alan and JC looked great at line 2.

The Aggies take on Alabama tonight at 6. They are ranked so it may be a good match.

Aggies take on Vandy this afternoon in Nashville . Need a road win.

No Togan in doubles has the teams all mixed up. If he is out in singles too, it will have an impact.

Togan is currently listed at 5 singles but we won't know if he is playing for a bit as Vanderbilt only has the 4 courts at their home venue, so 5 and 6 singles have to wait.

And JC played doubles but isn't playing singles.

I'm so confused by these lineups. Nothing makes sense anymore.
