It is going to be a wonderful celebration and tribute with 102,000+ Aggie faithful showing their appreciation. And it should go like this:

Saturday, September 19, 2026. SEC opener. Opponent: Kentucky Wildcats.

Make it happen.

"Folks, let me tell you, these Texas A&M Aggies are the toughest, most incredible volleyball team you've ever seen they just swept that highly overrated Kentucky team in straight sets, nobody thought they could do it, but they dominated like nobody's ever dominated before, and now they're your 2025 National Champions the greatest champions in history, bringing that beautiful trophy back to the great state of Texas! Tremendous, absolutely tremendous congratulations to the Aggies!"

I'm not certain at all that Kentucky was highly overrated. They won the SEC and beat us twice this season before we turned white hot.

just AI doing its thing.

and I agree, Kentucky wasn't overrated. Aggies were underrated though. No one really took a long hard look at our roster and body of work due to us not being a blue blood.

we have several fans calling the UK coach a bum and saying he was lazy and did nothing to try to coach his team. I don't know why many of our fans must dimmish the opposing team instead of celebrating the great victory our team had.

we only played them once during the regular season, didn't we? We lost that match 1-3.

They only beat us once. But I agree, they were not overrated. They beat a lot of good teams and played Nebraska better than anyone this year (until us).

UK and Pitt were really good. The fact that we swept both is honestly crazy. Legendary run!!

I think TV cameras like to show coaches in a state of dumbfoundedness in any sport. There is no way a coach is just sitting there doing nothing for any length of time.

Oh gosh, this brings back a painful memory. Our 1989 opener at Kyle was against LSU. That was the game our athletic department chose to honor the baseball team for spending all season ranked no. 1. Before losing a doubleheader to the same LSU at Olsen to get knocked out our own regional. And they even performed the ceremony on the south end of Kyle in front of their student section. You could hear them razzing us all over the stadium. Fortunately a few minutes later Larry Horton shut them up.

I like your idea a lot better.

well i find it hilarious that people think their coach just sat on the bench and did nothing.

It was clear to me the way the match went down that Kentucky might have been mentally beat even before the first serve. Think about this, they had lost two games all year to Nebraska and Pitt. The two teams we just beat and we swept Pitt who swept them.

After we made that comeback in the first set and the way, the second set started, it was over! Once we started getting all their little dinks that they used to beat us the first time they were afraid of our blocks even more game set match,

Note: This is about a big an intangible as intangibles get....but I wouldn't discount the effect the loss to Miami might have had on these women. They played focused.

No

That had NOTHING to do with it..

Why do people always have to bring football to other sports? LOL

what did it was the 2nd TO by Morrison. They regocused and crawled back into the match point by point, rally by rally until tying the score at 20. When they retired at 24- things just became easier. the blocks became offense. The serves became aces and Kentucky could not stop them.. it was right there on the court, on the screens at home. it was beautiful VB.

You can't know that.

A warning of the perils of hubris can come from anywhere.

Can you point to a bigger one?

Again

You are missing my main point. UK was on edge from the start. It's like they knew we were the better team.

They built the early lead bc a couple of our girls were clearly a little amped or nervous bc it was the NC.

Yes of course the time outs helped getting our team realigned and playing at the level of the past few matches.

We whipped them the last two sets bc they were mentally beat.

Yes I can

It's cute that you are trying to somehow make it relatable.

If you actually follow the volleyball team and think this, I'm at a loss.

I'll make it simple for you the Nebraska match and the Pitt match were both before the football game. that's making your point even less meaningful.

And what's even funnier, you responded to my point where I'm saying that Kentucky was mentally whipped before we even stepped on the court and somehow tried to twist that into A&M playing better because of our football team, losing the day before, Alrighty, LOL!

Jeez, dude. My whole point…and only conjecture at that…is that a small factor might have been an extra amount of playing for school pride because of the football bedshyte and you deliver two responses like you've personally mapped the brain activity of two whole teams in their entirety and see all.

That said, if you are actually with the team I'll concede the point.

Only once. We didn't face them in the SEC tourney because we lost to Texas.

Yep. It's real simple: Our final record was 29-4. Those 4 losses were to TCU, SMU, KY, and tu.
