So let me get this straight: no national champion has EVER beaten a region number 1 in the semis and the finals before? I find that a little tough to believe. I mean, not suggesting it happens ever year or even often, but never?

ETA: t.u. did it in 2023: beat 1-seed Wisconsin in the semis and 1-seed Nebraska in the finals. t.u. was a 2-seed.

So either they're wrong or they mean something different from what I'm saying here.

I think they're saying, no lower seed has ever beat two no.1 seeds to reach the semi's or the final. Once in the final 4, anything is possible.

The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government." So, Nebraska, Kentucky, Texas, and Pitt were the four #1 seeds in 2025 correct?

And A&M if win the natty will have beaten all four of them. Sitting at 3-1 right now against them.

Being ranked #6, we were really deserved a 2 seed. But in the end it would have just flipped us and Louisville who I think was the weakest #2 seed.

These girls are amazing and we just have more weapons offensively than any other team I believe. Nebraska was the next closest with their middles and Harper, but we have quality OH, Middles, oh and Logan lol.

I feel like service errors cost us in the SEC tourney loss to tu, but credit to Morrison, he we live with those service errors (when I as a HS coach get so aggrivated at my girls for missing serves). It's a double edged sword but it paid off cause we were nailing them and keeping the service pressure on UNL. Harper even mentioned how tough our serve game was.

This is interesting so I ask for more from Google Gemini...

In the history of the NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Tournament, only one team other than 2025 Texas A&M has defeated two #1 seeds in a single tournament run:
UCLA (2011)
UCLA is the only team prior to the current 2025 season to accomplish this feat. Entering as the #9 national seed, they went on a legendary run to the championship:
  • Defeated #1 seed Texas in the Regional Final (Elite Eight).
  • Defeated #1 seed Illinois in the National Championship match.
Why 2025 Texas A&M is Making History
While UCLA tied the record for two wins over #1 seeds, 2025 Texas A&M is currently in a position to stand alone as the greatest "giant killer" in tournament history.
  • What they have done: They have already defeated #1 overall seed Nebraska in the Regional Final and #1 seed Pittsburgh in the National Semifinal.
  • What is next: They are scheduled to face #1 seed Kentucky in the National Championship.
Quote:

If Texas A&M wins today, they will be the first team ever to defeat three #1 seeds in a single NCAA tournament.

Other Notable "Giant Killers"
For context, many other champions have beaten one #1 seed, but almost never two:
  • Stanford (2004): The lowest seed ever to win (#11 seed), but they only faced and defeated one #1 seed (Washington) on their path.
  • Stanford (2016): Won as a #6 seed, defeating #1 seed Minnesota in the semifinal.
  • Texas (2023): Won as a #2 seed, defeating #1 seed Wisconsin and #1 seed Nebraska. (Note: In some formats, Texas is credited with two #1 wins, though they were a top-4 seed themselves, unlike the "underdog" runs of UCLA or Texas A&M.)
ETA: Actually, Texas A&M, UCLA, and tu are the only three teams to beat 2 #1s. (Seeding format was different years ago, so AI may be confused -- seeds 1 through 4 were all effectively #1s by today's standards). Texas A&M is the only one with a shot at being the first ever to beat three #1s. BTHO Kentucky!

ETA: Can't trust AI 100% turns out tu was a #2 seed and defeated 3 #1s in 2023. Who cares? Just win! BTHO Kentucky!

OP, just think how ridiculous that is. And then don't post it. Clearly, it's GIGO. AI will be the death of all of us.
