More like trying to recruit players away during the CWS.

That's not exactly what happened. Weiner practically led the charge to Austin.

Should talk to the UCSB pitching coach. Dylan Jones. Young guy & also their recruiting coordinator. 2 years in a row they will have a top 5 pick in the draft. Obviously he can recruit pitchers and develop.

ERA has gone down 3 yrs in a row for these guys

Frank was not at UT this year. He's working for the Giants.

With the new technology and pitching lab, I would think we'd go younger, but who knows.

I agree with that - younger

I'm certain whoever it is will be an upgrade, hard not to be.

We also need a new hitting coach IMHO, if the last 2 games of the season are any indication……

What's the general baseball public's view of Sean Snedeker? Has he done well where he has been?

Weiner was very much in favor of that move. Very involved from the outset with Schloss, going back to March of 2024. I'm cool with it if you don't believe me though.

Earley is no longer considered a head coach in good standing long term. He has 24 months left on his contract, with a buyout that is reduced to just $1 million in 12 months. Attracting a quality pitching coach under these circumstances will be difficult, and nobody knows this better than the college coaching community. Especially when a significant roster rebuild is required to accomplish meaningful things in 2027.

I'm guessing Earley's agent has already come at Trev Alberts, claiming that hiring, recruiting and NIL fund raising will be next to impossible without an immediate extension.

Tough spot.

Yes indeed. It will either be a young guy with little experience, or an old guy, that is looking for one last chance. I don't see Albers fearing anything that the agent might say.

It's a good opportunity for anyone.

Literally no where to go but up on pitching performance. At an SEC school. New facilities on the way.

Resume builder whether it's one year and they move on (for one reason or another) or it all works and you are now established at TAMU.

Agreed that's a good way of selling it. There's definitely a lower ceiling though for caliber of pitching coach willing to sign on to a "could be a good resume builder" situation

Not if we are horrible. You might not be at A&M long enough to experience the benefit of the facilities.

Whomever it is it probably needs to be soon. The pitching in the portal is thin and will be picked over quickly.

The Southern Miss pitching turnaround is primarily driven by their head coach in my opinion (Christian Ostrander).

I don't think you're likely stealing a pitching coach from anyone from an established program (UCLA, GaTech, Auburn, texas, etc.).

So you're looking for an up and coming guy or an assistant that is all in on the analytics/lab stuff. That could be from MiLB or NCAA.

USM when they hosted a regional they got destroyed at home that would be a pass.

FTR I do NOT want that traitorous ******** back. BUT, you absolutely have to float this rumor and try to get it to grow some legs this week leading up to and during the supers if you're the AD and Earley.

He is not traitorous. When your coach asks you to go with him to his new job, you go. Not even up for debate. If you don't, you end up with no job.

He was in on it during the CWS final. He and traitor were tied at the hip. He won't be returning.

I can see youth and an up and comer in our future. Don't think we're in a position together get any top level seasoning.

Nuno asked Kendall Roger's who he thought it will be. He named one name, Frank Anderson! Guess he hasn't seen Frank's dbag stats. He also mentioned pulling from the pros and someone younger with more of an analytics spin.

My son is close to the USM program. The bullpen faltered down the stretch. Sound familiar? Started off with a solid staff this year. Then, when the moment was big, they list a lot of leads late. Hmmm. The choke job against UVA was a perfect example. It didn't help in some losses that the bats went cold. Sound familiar … again?

I'm struggling with this scenario. On one hand I'd like to screw over schloss and the sips in any way possible. On the other hand, Weiner seems fine with the company he is keeping; which speaks to his character. I would feel better about it if he came here and it sent tu reeling and they cried publicly and he said something along the lines of "I had to get away from that toxic sob and that liberal cesspool"......one can dream
