I really don't see what he can gain from a developmental standpoint by staying. Probably better to go start the clock and move to wood.

Agreed, he has probably out-grown the program

My understanding is its typically best for juniors to go bc it helps them having extra eligibility in contract negotiations. If you are out of it, the club can low ball you.

The only way Caden would possibly stay is if the NCAA grants all sports the 5th year of eligibility for all sports effective pretty much immediately

Go ask Jace who is struggling in single A this season so far but improving recently.

Jace is/was also recovering from hand surgery. Caden is not.

Honestly to me, Gravin is the better prospect. Good size and athleticism, can hit for power/average, play plus defense multiple positions.

Sorrell is all of those things except at a premium defensive position, he'll go before Gavin but they'll both be high draft picks

Keep in mind that with the MLB draft players aren't necessarily taken in order of their talent. It often comes down to what their signing bonus requests are. Teams will take lower rated players willing to take a smaller bonus if it means saving money for other players at other picks.

Well if that happens hopefully we get Gavin and others to stay too. Highly unlikely though of course

and if we find a way to pay him 4 million to make up for his potential MLB contract (if not more)

OP why your making wishes can you ask for the following:

- Friday night starter
- Two strong middle relievers
- A lockdown closer
- A first round OF
- A first round 2B or 1B
- A catcher that hits over .300 and limits the running game

I think that should cover it.

I don't know what the young arms didn't show to get a shot but, IMHO, we'll need at least 5 arms- 2 starters, a closer, and 2 middle relievers.

OF will see Kiel, Wilson, and I expect one of the younger guys step up but we'll need a transfer there.

I can see us going after a C in the portal.

At first, you have to figure out if Bindy is going to go pro. 2B will be Farr next year unless he enters the portal but I have no indication he'll do that.

Next year, second base should be Kellner, and then find a natural SS. A good GG often saved his throws to first.

I agree

Brilliant! Take a kid who has played SS his entire career & move him to another spot.

guarantee this exact post was made last year about jace.

wonder who it will be about next year.

Partida isn't draft eligible until after the following season. So the answer next year is NOBODY.

You never know who we might get int the portal. (see Hacopian this year)
