I'm sure it's because I've never had the physique of Gavin (although I'm 6'4, 225) but his cramp appeared to be in his quad... I'm trying to think back through my nearly 50 years on this earth and I don't think I've ever had a quad cramp. Foot, calf, hamstring, sure. The contracting muscles... Never the extension muscles. Seemed weird.

Straight up cramps.

For anyone that has ever offshore fished, you know what its like when your arm locks up and you can't move it. And that's with no beers and lots of water and liquidIV, pedialyte, etc.

Regarding the bottom of the eighth last night: a cramped up Grahovac is essentially stranded on second because he can't run, Ags have a one-run lead, bases are loaded, and trainer has been out to second to tend to GG. Why wouldn't Earley put in TK to pinch run? At the end of the inning, he did sub in Binderup to play first. But that runner at second represented what would have been an additional insurance run (Chesnut did score from third on Haco's sac fly). We were three outs away from the win with Freshcorn working strong. And on the chance that Lamar came back to tie, Gavin was not due up for probably at least another inning. I did not understand the decision not to pinch run for him in that situation. Any insights?

GG is one of our best players on the team and he wanted to play through it. He came out onto the field defensively T9 and tried to give it a go before being subbed for defensively.

I think maybe only Sorrell gets that same treatment. Pretty much most of the rest of the team you run for B8.

And I like his attitude but It's not his choice. It's the staff's responsibility to protect the team AND the player. It was the wrong decision.

I agree. It was clear that bindy was going in defensively but he should have been pulled the second time he called for a trainer.

I agree. I didn't see, but I think at a minimum you have to ask to see him sprint hard a few time to prove he can go. Thank goodness his run didn't end up mattering, but this wasn't a blowout. His potential run was absolutely meaningful in that spot.
