Agree with a previous poster that Wilson needs to look for fastball and take off speed. He has to quit taking fastballs, especially for strike 3. Another thing that helps break slumps is to try to go opposite field with most everything. That forces staying back and on the pitch.

I keep waiting (praying) for him to get hot again. I think it sparks our offense when he is nasty. Have not looked at the numbers but my eyes tell me GG and CS were hitting better when JW was hot.

Wilson has elite arm strength. His fielding leaves much to be desired in terms of jump, angle, range and general awareness. That is where he'll take the biggest leap from season 1 to 2.

As I've posted in Duers last 5 SEC series he's .114 and is an awful outfielder. He's a sr and his stats were largely built on Tuesday's and garbage time. Hence 3 run he vs msu when down 17-4. TK or chestnut should be in Jorian if you want a lefty move him behind Hacopian he'll get some better pitches to hit.

This argument that TK and Chesnut do t hold water anymore Duer is barely hitting .100 the last month and a half. He's has more than earned some serious ass time.

Remove the Tuesday games and see what these stats look like. The last 5 sec series and tournament and no midweek games. These numbers will be different for all involved.

Meh. I'm fine with trying anybody in a couple of spots to see if we can get someone hot or get a spark if some guys keep scuffling (which they have). Kiel, Chestnut, whomever. Love their speed and the basepath chaos they can create. I'm thinking it's going to be situational though. Pretty much what Earley's already doing. I will be happy if any or all get some ABs and catch fire. Rooting for all of them.

I threw out avg with risp bc statistically that's been a clear differentiator and maybe explains the reasoning for some of the decisions. Just guessing on my part. Duer has held fairly steady throughout btw.

Rather have Wilson in Right field, his batting average is about the same but he can steal a homer. With his size and has a very good arm but it is what it is.

I'm Jorian's biggest fan but right now he has to sit. The strikeout numbers alone warrant it. TK at least put the bat on the ball tonight. There may be a time where contact is all we need to get a run and sadly TK gives us a better chance than Jorian right now. He just needs to find a spark, find his confidence. That's all it is. Would have liked to get Jorian an at bat late in the game tonight. Easier opponent. Large lead. Zero stress. Great way to jump start something. But oh well.

Along with everyone else on this thread. I also said continuing to play Wilson at this time could be very counter intuitive for the player. I'm glad Earley finally noticed it as well.

Did not see you saying he would make the switch prior to the game or that continuing to play him might not be the best for him so you don't get any credit.

No, not mad at all i'm genuinely happy for him bc he's a good kid. I just don't beat my chest over someone making an error .. the coach after the game said it well. He is a good player ! There are swings he would look good in the box and then he would chase pitches way out of zone. You have to take the good with the bad.
Just like with Wilson, his strikeouts and freezes had become such a problem you had to play somebody else ..
