2024:

Lost 2/3 to @LSU
Lost 2/3 to @Ole Miss
Won 2/3 to Arky
0-2 in Hoover

2026:
Lost 2/3 to Auburn
Lost 2/3 to @Ole Miss
Won 2/3 to Miss. St.
0-1 in Hoover

Both teams had rough May's, but the season doesn't end in May!

Okay, sunshine pumper. The 2024 team had much better pitching. Not to mention, a much better head coach, even if he is a POS as a person and had one foot already out the door.

Good news:

- We don't face a SEC lineup in our regional
- We most likely get fully healthy
- This is just the 2nd anomaly at the plate this year

Bad news:

- We will probably get matched up with Florida on the road in a Super
- We were lackadaisical with a national seed on the line

Why is everybody so scared of Florida all of a sudden LMAO

I would much rather get matched up with Gainesville than have to play a legit top 8 like Ga Tech, UNC, GA, or auburn

We dont face SEC lineup in our regional. That makes zero since. SEC teams get upset all the time in their regionals. There are lots of good teams around the country and several get hot in the post season and beat SEC teams. Louisville beat Vandy, Coastal beat Florida, UTSA beat t.u., and Duke beat Geaorgia last year.

I think with all of the injuries that we have to this point in the season and the lack of reliable pitching, it's going to be hard for us to win a Super Regional, regardless of where it is played. I'm not saying that we won't advance to Omaha, but we're going to have to get Nico and Sims back. Freshcorn is awesome. What we saw last night was the excellent pitching wins games. Coach Early said last Saturday that we are close to being healthy. Maybe one game in Hoover allowed our pursuit of getting healthy to continue, since we only played one game this week. Let's see what shakes out when the tournament schedule is announced.

Although I appreciate the enthusiasm, it would be a good idea to focus on the task in front of us and in the moment. What happens if Partida is limited to pinch-hitting and Sims' arm isn't ready? Wilson has hit a wall. Hacopian and Kellner are not playing well. Duer is a mystery. The pitching is anybody's guess. Earley better get this group focused, or some hungry lower seed, with a chip on their shoulder, is going to steal the Regional.

Just my opinion.

With our pitching we will be rather fortunate to get out of our own Regional, much less win a Super on the road to get to Omaha. Hope we do it, but I"m prepared for a pretty quick exit.

I'm really getting tired of these 2024 comparisons. They sound like deflections from addressing suboptimal play.

I wonder what the stats for the top of our lineup is compared to mid-season. As the games have become more critical, seems we have become less opportunistic and clutch, which was a problem last year as well.

Comparison vs the 2024 team. The 2024 team never got run ruled. The 2026 team has been run ruled at least twice. Also the biggest loss differentual was 8-2 to Ole Miss. Next loss diff was by 4 runs or less. The 2026 team has lost by 4 or more 7 times. Oh and the big one the 2024 figured how to get 19 conf wins and secure the Super Regional. This team had chances down the stretch vs Auburn, Fl, and Ole Miss and could not get one more win. Yeah both teams are very similar. I would book my Omaha tickets now.

Eh … it wasn't the best pitching staff. They came together clutch in Omaha but the weeks before it was tough. The starting rotation was a big question mark going into postseason. The bullpen was great though

Now that being said, the 2024 team would have beaten this 2026 team in a 3 game series and I'm not sure it wouldn't be a sweep. That 24 team was special

I agree. I think getting healthy is our biggest hurdle right now. We aren't playing well but if we can play solid baseball this weekend then we should win our regional. After that I feel it is all gravy. We don't have the pitching to win it all in Omaha but we need to win our regional at least.

2024 we were relatively healthy minus B-mont. 2026…. We look like we just went 12 rounds with Tyson coming into the post season. I don't think people realize how injured we are…

Biggest difference is POS knew exactly when to pull a pitcher. He would pull them midcount sometimes. He would pull them after one or two outs sometimes. Earley/Kelly doesn't know exactly when to pull pitchers. So theirs is a big difference if we have to play a game and patchwork the game and use like 6 or so pitchers.

Bottom line is, we do not have good pitching this year. It's been evident. And if you can't see it, then I'm not sure what else to tell you
