It's incredible how many of these we give up. It HAS to be some sort of record

I think we lead the league (or close to it) in home runs allowed.

Our pitching staff knows they are out-classed, our offense is dealing with that reality right now. Need to wash it out and hope for the heater because that's the only wild card that will help us to Omaha

If I've stated this once, I've stated it ten times.

These are pitch counts where you will typically throw inside (i.e., six inches to a foot) the plate.

You're basically making sure they are not "diving" out over the plate only protecting the middle out of the plate--meaning they have to protect both sides of the plate.

We hardly EVER (MEANING NEVER) come inside on a hitter. Coming inside on either of these two pitch counts, you're setting up for the next pitch, either a low outside fastball, inside portion of the plate curveball (i.e., basically coming at the hitters shoulder and coming over the plate for a strike), or whatever pitch you've set up throughout the game.

We never come inside on hitters, though.

That's on the pitching coach. He's calling the pitches.

If they don't have the juice, the movement, or the command, it doesn't matter what the pitching coach calls.

LOL

You mean we have guys that have all these awesome pitches but our coach does not let them throw them in pitchers counts.
