In all of the discussion covering 2 threads, I never see TK's actual numbers…just blanket statements that he can't hit. According to the athletic website, Duer has a BA of .299 compared to TK's .265. The OB% are about the same with TK having a slight edge. Anyone know how those relate for SEC play only? I don't think TK is hitless as might be inferred from the blanket statements.

My guess is Earley will get back to his original lineup as soon as everyone is healthy but he will make Royo or Binderup the DH which means he'll stick with Duer in left (I'm not sure why). Watching Hacopian though, I'm not convinced he's going to be an option in the field the rest of the year.

Even with a much better K/BB ratio Kiel has a lower OB%. And Kile hits lower in the lineup when he plays. Duer is struggling for sure but Kiel is simply a worse hitter. There's nothing to suggest switching them out is going to make the LF spot more productive.

Seems like many of you believe Bindy should be benched in favor of Kellner. I do not understand this.

Bindy has been much better offensively, much better.

What we lose defensively, if anything, by replacing Kellner with Royo at shortstop, is much less than what we lose offensively by benching Bindy.

Kellner has been mostly solid defensively, but Royo might be just as good...he made a great play vs Ole Miss.

Royo's fielding percentage is lower than Kellner even with far fewer chances. He probably is capable of more "wow" plays but he's simply less reliable. It's a simple truth that he got best out by a true freshman after starting 44 games last year. That's not an accident. That great play vs Ole Miss has to be weighed against the two errors against State. At the most important defensive position consistently making the routine wis more important than occasionally making the "wow" play. There's a reason Kellner was reinserted at SS as soon as he came back to the lineup. He's a better defensive option than Royo.
