Good evening, I'm going to start writing a short synopsis following every game, and then an overview of each series after it's over. If you've been involved with the games or 203 for the past few years, I'm the guy that's always tracking the stats for the games. I'm hoping to get my name out there and figured something like TexAgs would be a great way to start. Below I'll have different categories of info on each game, as well as link my spreadsheets to the stats for pitching and offense for the season, updating during/after each game.
(Also, for the stats and the box score, I don't know how to import a table for TexAgs, so they're all just typed out for now until I figure out how to do so)

Player of the Game: Caden Sorrell
I mean, is there much to say about why? 5 RBI's on two home runs and a single was the backbone of our offense. He lit a fire in the team when we needed it in the 7th and helped propel us out of reach from Tenn Tech.
Pitcher of the Game: Ethan Darden
It was great to see Shane back on the mound after a year and a half, but my nod for the game would go to Darden. He came in with runners at the corners and proceeded to pitch a double play, ending the inning without any damage, He followed the 6th up with pitching a leadoff walk, but then pitching another double play, keeping the basepaths clear. His effectiveness on the mound paired with our offense in the 6th-8th allowed us to take the game out of Tech's hands.
Overall Impressions:
I think our offense looked great putting the ball in play, however, we left way too many men on base. This is something I trust Earley and the staff will correct, allowing us to be effective with our base runners. On another note, our pitching looked good. Shane pitched a really good 1st, 2nd, and 4th, but had a hiccup in the 3rd. When he was pulled Darden did a great job at relieving him and allowing us to stay in front. Hubert looks promising, and I imagine his talent will grow with time and experience. Overall, I think this was a great opening day and I can't wait to see what the rest of the weekend has in store. I'll update y'all again once we BTHO Tennessee Tech tomorrow morning.
