for baseball and softball? I have nothing against softball, and not trying to stir up trouble. I know this has been discussed, but I have not seen any real answers. What problem would it cause?

This. Every other sport has a dedicated board. Baseball and softball are not the same. Why are they put together?

It is real simple: Adding another board, in this case to facilitate the separation of Baseball and Softball, would disrupt the axial tilt of the Earth. Without the 23.5-degree tilt of the Earth, there would be no seasons. That includes baseball and softball season. None of us want that. So we soldier on, burdened with the inconvenience of a shared board but secure in the knowledge that our seasons - all seasons - are safe.

I think there is more engagement with softball having it on the baseball board than having it on its own board. I, for example, probably wouldn't go to a softball specific board to get information. But I will read lots of softball threads on the baseball board as I'm looking around.

*I'll admit though it does get confusing sometimes when STAFF doesn't distinguish in the subject line that a game recap is for softball, and I scroll down the page trying to figure out if I'm looking girls' names or travel ball boys' names.
