So, it looks like the Golden Eagles might be a step up in competition vs the opening series opponents the past few years. Here's what I've learned:
They were 37-20 last season, finishing 3rd in the Ohio Valley Conference. They played Vanderbilt and UT last season, losing 16-3 and 7-1.
Their coach is Matt Bragga. He was hired by Rice to take over from Wayne Graham in 2019. His 2 1/2 years at Rice were pretty bad (the half season was the Covid year) and they fired him. Then he went back to Tenn Tech. His best season at Tech the first time was 2018 when they went 53-12 and lost to tu in game 3 of the super regionals.
