real turf and dirt?
God loves you so much He'll meet you where you are. He also loves you too much to allow to stay where you are.

Hope this one plays more like a collegian baseball stadium and not like the little league park they used to play in.

Lindsey Nelson Stadium uses FieldTurf for its playing surface. This is the same company that is responsible for the turf for the likes of the Carolina Panthers, Seattle Seahawks, New England Patriots, Detroit Lions, Atlanta Falcons, Michigan football, Notre Dame football, Oregon football, Texas football and a good number of college baseball programs.

Pretty sure it's a (105 million dollar) facelift of the original park.

thought that might be the case. I don't mind the field turf for grass as much but when you take the dirt out it is AWFUL

Don't think they moved the outfield wall.

Not saying Olsen isn't due for an upgrade but I prefer a good ballpark that isn't a band box with the Game played on a field of real grass and dirt any day.

Not gonna lie, the mountains in the background are damn cool.

True.

But our aquatics facility on the north and the BNSF on the east are better.

So the weasel coach they had is now employed by the SFO Giants?

You will be impressed with how much money comes in when A&M wins a Natty. It changed the game and program direction here with new donors specific to baseball as well as greater budget designation to baseball from the AD.

Whoops. No need to see all of right field.

When UT has good pitching, it's super impressive. When they put up crazy power #s, you take it with a grain of salt. 340'-345' power alleys. ~385' CF. Crazy small.

Besides that, I think they did a good job of turning, arguably, the worst SEC park into one of the better ones.

Plastic turf and dirt, but at least the pitcher's mound has REAL dirt.

Any time you get in the "transition" zone -- where growing grass, even cool season grass, early in the year is tough -- you almost have to be a little more tolerant of turf. Lexington could probably get away with cool season grass the still late in the baseball season, but Knoxville can't. The transition to bermuda in, say, late April or early May would be rough.

Now, t.u. doesn't have the same excuse. They're just downright lazy and pretty much have been for decades.

Well the right field fence isn't much farther than that view allows.

They had a nice grass field for many years in Knoxville. Arkansas has a beautiful field. It can be done at that latitude, someone just decided not to.

The sips keep saying they are going back to grass, but never do.
