I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas

The song "… it's the most wonderful time of the year…" keeps going through my head…
I've been frustrated by the lack of quality college baseball media that's out this week.
And any media that discussed us this offseason is lazy. But can't say I fully blame them.
ETA: National media that is. TexAgs has some stories and interviews that scratch an itch.

So excited and have been prepping for weeks for opening day, youngest is off of school Friday for the holiday weekend and wife was gonna duck out after lunch for us to get up there early. Everything was set...
But then she comes to me yesterday to say that her boss (based in Europe) is in town this week by surprise and wants to meet with her for her annual review Friday afternoon over an hour away in Houston!
How do these people not know that we have all been waiting 266 days for this! So oblivious of other people's needs and priorities!

HA! No ma'am, you may be hearing things!
You are hearing that I may not be able to get to campus as early as I had been planning to get there. I was planning to have my older 2 kids (class of 2027 & FTAB 2029) come over to tailgate for a while and celebrate opening day for the season!
Feel free to have a drink with us if you are going to be there! (If we are able to be there that is)
I wonder if I can sleep straight through Thursday just so it gets here faster. Never worked as a kid at Christmas, but maybe I'll have better luck as an adult?

Well, as the season gets going, and you are looking to go to a game, don't hesitate to ping me to see if any of my tickets are available. We make most of the games but can't make them all or commonly have an extra seat available, especially weeknight games.
Honestly, I get more excited for this than Christmas.

Just got an update that she got the meeting moved up to today so we should be good!

I forgot to block out Friday as a day when I'm unavailable, and ended up with a mediations scheduled that day, so...
...I'm going down to CS tomorrow night, and will do mediation by Zoom from my friends house. Will be doing all I can to get it settled by 4:00 so I'm not pressed to make first pitch.
