Not surprising. It's time to get away from Schloss. I expected this to happen relatively quickly after they left here.

Hopefully Weiner is not far behind him. Unfortunately, that guy can coach pretty well

The stench of a skunk permeates everything that comes close.

Max is not ready to be a head coach but wouldn't mind him leaving Austin.

I think we would have hired Cain had he handled things more professionally when Swingin' Jim left. Him tagging along and even contributing to the mess showed a lack of character. It was interesting to me that he was the reason LaViolette came here yet when it was time to push an assistant for the job Jace threw his weight behind Earley. Maybe Cain wasn't interested, who knows?

Cain is a mercenary. He'll go wherever there's more money.

You're probably right. I think he's a great salesman but probably a pretty poor leader. I think Schloss is probably a great leader but a mediocre salesman. They make a good team. TCU struggled for a few years when he didn't have that ace recruiter on staff after Vitello left.

disagree. Max Weiner can read some metrics a computer shows him. He has no pitching expertise or pitching experience.

It does no good whatsoever to dismiss what he's accomplished prior to becoming ours and then tu's pitching coach. Max pitched for four years at the collegiate level, 2 in JUCO and two at FIU. Before we hired him he was reshaping the pitching for the Seattle Mariners organization and part of the reason we hired him is because he changed the trajectory of Bryce Miller's career who recommended him strongly to Schloss.

None of those things make him a good man or a good person, he solidified that with how he exited the program and clearly the players had a problem with him since none of them followed him. But he's an accomplished pitcher and clearly one hell of a coach.
