I've said that I'm skeptical of how fatigued we are, but Bucky seems to think it was true of at least the last game so I was wrong on that apparently. He mentioned the turnaround from playing the late game Wednesday to traveling for the early game Saturday as a potential reason.

If you haven't listened to his interview that's pinned above you should go listen to it, he mentioned going lighter on practice and if that doesn't work potentially going the other way.

Summaries from the interview:

- They were off Sunday, doing a walk-through today, and then only 45-50 minute practice tomorrow before playing Wednesday.
- If that doesn't work, then we'll have to go the other way after this game and maybe we need to turn it up in practice
- multiple guys mentioned having a hard time getting their legs going Saturday, but didn't feel like that against Alabama, Missouri or Florida, just Vandy, could be as simple as that Wednesday-to-travel-Saturday
- But every game will have a couple of games like that, that's just the gauntlet of the SEC
- Had hard time getting into our quick sets on offense also, wasn't just defense
- Clemence has looked fresh and is playing his basketball of the season
- Every season has ebbs and flows, have to figure out a way to get some confidence back in a couple of guys, "would rather be going through this now than at the end of the season, because we can get back to that, and when we get back to that we're pretty dang good"
- Sitting here with Kyle Keller and he told me that in 2016 when we won the SEC, they lost five games in a row before winning a ton in a row and winning the SEC. "They didn't look like they'd ever win again and then went on the biggest run there is"

I hadn't considered that 2016 comp but it's interesting. That team was 7-0, then lost 5 conference games in a row (though an Iowa State win was sprinkled in there). Four of them to pretty bad teams (Arkansas, South Carolina, Alabama and LSU would all fail to reach the tournament that season and finished outside the top 50 per Torvik) and then we closed the season with six straight wins including beating a top ten Kentucky team and a top 20 Vanderbilt team.

Fatigue looks better on a team during a winning streak vs a losing streak. It's both physical and mental.

That team was about twice as talented as this one tho.

While there is is no way guys this age are getting smoked on 2 games per week, the cumulative effect could contribute 1-5% damage in the legs over time which could be affecting outcomes.

A lot more fun to play D when shots are falling

power ranking of which players from that team you'd add to this one?

Freshman Tyler Davis is the "don't overthink it" answer. Jalen Jones is probably the right answer. Danuel House is the most fun answer.

So the 2016 losses were somewhat due to dead legs because of the limited roster? Yikes, we cant have people trying to rewrite history. We all know it was just due to poor coaching from Kennedy.

It's a good thing we don't need to win the conference then.

Yeah. That. Tonny would be interesting on this team. Caruso would be good even if he shot like a girl. He could still open things up and get a ton of steals.
