Yeah that was refreshing to hear.

I also enjoyed him talking about how they have math guys telling them who they can/should schedule on that podcast with Samford guys from a few days ago. It's really good to hear the inside poop.

It's a small example but I think that's a great sign for how this ship is being run. I was pretty critical of how our last coaching staff was a cult built around one person with very little outside experience but Bucky knows where his blind spots are and puts people around him to help with them.

It was a good first sign when he assembled a staff that knows A&M, the state of Texas and the SEC, and the way he talks about the consultants and other outside info he uses is another positive sign.

I appreciated this as well. So many times under Buzz we would mess around with these early season games and either lose them outright, or severely underperform which would hurt our metrics. Considering those efficiency metrics are a variable in the NET rankings it absolutely matters how you play in these games. Not all wins are created equally.

Love these but also get tired of Monaco rambling forever about something and then says "isn't that true?" And then expects the coach to expound.

Oh God, I had to listen to a bit of a football game while driving and it was the most challenging thing in the world. Monaco would be yelling YORK WRAPS HIM UP AND BRINGS HIM DOWN then he whispers for a 21 yard gain lol

But I love Monaco because I grew up watching the Spurs as a kid so I always watched him and then when I become an Aggie so did he lol

And he says over and over "This is a tournament sport" meaning the regular season is just about getting to the post season and that's when the real season starts and what really matters. Kind of the opposite of the last guy.
