It's a new era in Aggieland! As the sun rises on the last week of October and the start of Aggie Basketball this weekend, the football team is undefeated and Aggie hoops is under new management.
Later this week I'll do a little season preview, but it's prediction time.
For the best and worst of last year's predictions, click here.
2025-2026 Predictions:
Overall regular season record (31 games): 20-11
Conference regular season record: 8-10
Postseason tournament? Which one? Seed?: NCAA's, 11 seed
Conference Champion: Kentucky
National Champion: Purdue
For fun:
Do we break the school record for threes in a game (16)? Which game? Right out of the gate against Northwestern State
Does anyone break the single game threes record (8)? Who? Dominguez against either NW State or Tx. Southern
Who are our top three in points per game? Mgbako, Isaacs, Hill
Who leads in rebounds? Agee (bonus pick here in that I bet he doesn't lead us in that many games, but that he'll almost always be second)
What will be our season high in turnovers forced against a Q1 or Q2 opponent? Against who? 26, South Carolina
Other bold predictions:
- We will both surrender and erase multiple 20 point deficits this season
- We will lose at least two games by 30+ points
- We'll lose at least one Q4 non-con game, but we'll go on a heater at some point in conference play where we take down a couple ranked teams
- At least eight different players will lead us in scoring in different games
- Holloway is one of our least talked-about players but puts up wildly efficient box scores
