Was thinking about all of the Blackhawks and Chinooks that took part and started wondering about the Osprey. According to the internet, the 160th does not use any V-22s. Is there a reason? Is the Osprey not ideal for SpecOps?

Edit: Just saw the Army does not use the V-22. So that might be a big part of the why.

On or the issue with the osprey is that it's too fast for other helos. And it doesn't do well flying with a more vertical configuration for longer periods of time. Often times it has to have its gunship escort take off before it so that they meet up in flight.

But yes, if they don't have them in inventory it would also make sense they don't use them. Will be interesting what happens if we switch to the next generation vertical lift platform.
