What's the go to for mole/s that have taken a liking to my yard. Noticed multiple mounds of dirt in the yard over last week or so.

You probably have gophers if there are mounds (like very large ant hills of fresh dirt). If you have what looks like elevated tunnels in your yard, that is probably moles. I usually use gopher traps that you put in the tunnel, but my neighbor uses poison pellets in the holes.

This is the only thing that works. I've tried every trap, caught my yard on fire with those flair poison things, hired companies to do it. If you kill the food they'll eventually leave.

Agreed. You must kill the food source. Nothing else works long term

Agree grub killer is number one. Keeping your yard wet also helps. They would rather dig through dry sand than wet sand.

I've had moderate success with this.

My wife developed a method of heel stomping the runs in the evening, and then hanging out and watching the dirt. When the mole starts to move, grab a shovel, dig and dispatch. We have had lots of success with that. It's pretty fun actually.

I've put out grub killer every year and the moles keep coming. I think they eat earthworms too, of which we have a lot.

I think I could turn this into a drinking game of some sort. Not sure I could just sit there and watch for dirt moving without a beer or whiskey lol

Oh: I definitely do it with beer in hand. You really gotta walk on your heels down the mole run to really squish it. Then keep a spade shovel and pitchfork handy.

They make an eerie squeak noise when being dug up.
