I pulled so hard on the handle I was moving the refrigerator across the damn floor; but the SOB didn't move a frick'n centimeter.

Can you please a space heater behind the freezer to see if it will melt the ice?

Yeah, I can. Do you really think there could still be ice after almost 72 hours? Don't mean that in a smarta** way, it just doesn't seem likely??

What do you have to lose at this point? It could be frozen solid.

We could always use tannerite?

I lowered the fridge using the adjustment knobs and was able to crack open the right side. About 2 gallons of water leaked out. Wife helped crack the left side enough to get some light on it. SOB, there is still ice in the mfer.

Though I like the idea of tannerite. Or I could try a purse.

Excellent!

Could something have broken in the door opener mechanism that is preventing it from opening? I don't know what could be done if that is the case, as the screws to remove the door are only accessible when it is open. I have a similar refrigerator and had to take off the door a few weeks ago to do some work on it.

You definitely know what you're talking about. Just watched a video and I think the door mechanixm is screwed up. Not sure what to do at this point.

Well the SOB is open! I was able to move the right side a little, so I put a foot against the left door and pulled it as hard as I could. It moved a little and then opened up like a $20 hooker.

So was it the ice buildup that was preventing the door from opening? Check the drain tube to make sure it isn't clogged. Mine was clogged by dog hair of all things. I think the fan was sucking up loose dog hair into the bottom of the freezer whenever it was open, and it eventually made its way into the drain tube. I was getting some ice buildup, but not near to the extent that you have here.

I had a similar problem with my garbage can that is in a slide-out drawer in the kitchen. My problem was, obviously, not ice. A screw had worked its was out and was just loose in the track. One day it position itself and got stuck so I could not open the garbage can drawer. Oh boy. That was fun.
