Doesn't help. I think the odor is coming from the tubing under the sink. There is a specific installation requirement that wasn't done correctly. I have it rigged, but over time it slips and I have to get under there and fix it.

Seems like it was hardly the dishwashers fault then...who installed it?

I bought it at Lowe's so they handled the installation. I had no idea there was anything "special" that needed to be done or how to possibly supervise the guy to make sure he did it right.

I didn't even know there were specific installation requirements until I posted here about my stinky dishwasher and someone posted a diagram.

Based on my experience, this issue seems unique to the brand. I see it s a design flaw, but opinions may vary.

The take away for anyone capable of deductive reasoning is to make sure the installation is done properly if you want one of these units.

Don't know about the freeflex KA, but you need to compare the top of the line KA against the Bosch 800 or it's not really apples to apples.

Our German War factory Bosch was doing this same thing and being ignorant of what was going on, thanks to past Kitchen-Aid DWs ... it finally leaked into carpet two rooms away one morning.

Oct2025 can't find a decent KA so Quad Wash LG it will be and Consumer Reports has it in its Best Cleaning rating (w/KA and NOT Bosch).

I've got a KA, and just recently it leaked all over the kitchen. It's around 8 years old. Google found me a video about replacing the grommet above the pump. Easy, peasy, no more leak.
