BIL is getting married and he mentioned in passing he wants to go somewhere that we can golf and gamble.

I know the obvious answer is Vegas, but I've been there and done that and I am trying to think of better options.
I also know Scottsdale is a decent option, but what other places are out there?

We did our annual guy's golf trip to Biloxi a few years ago and gambled as well. Ended up being a pretty good time. We played Grand Bear, Windance, and Diamondhead.

Off the top of my head:
Tahoe area - choose either north or south, there are some fun courses there that don't carry the hefty price tag of Edgewood. Gambling on the Nevada side. If the trip is more for gambling than golf, or if you want to splurge for Edgewood, would recommend south. If more for golf with gambling sprinkled in, would recommend north.

I've planned a few of these for guys trips and most have picked Vegas & Scottsdale.

Other popular destinations I've proposed are San Diego (outside of the city), Palm Springs, and Atlantic City.

Used to do Vegas every fall but started mixing it up last year. Last year we went to Biloxi and played Fallen Oak and The Preserve and stayed at Beau Rivage. Pleasantly surprised with how enjoyable that trip was. Did a night in New Orleans as well before flying back.

Doing Scottsdale this year and probably Mesquite/St George next year.

Albuquerque is under rated as a golf/gambling destination. Lots of great golf and decent gambling.

It wasn't We-Ko-Pa. Talking Stick maybe?

We-Ko-Pa golf was awesome.

We Ko Pa as well as a several of the other courses people attribute to Scottsdale isn't in Scottsdale. I personally like the casino at Talking Stick but to each his own.

I saw a YouTube video a few months ago asking if Arizona is dead as a destination.

Bro wants golf and gambling for a bachelor party and we're not going to Vegas? It has great golf, great casinos, great entertainment and fantastic food.

It's cliche but there's no comparison. Off my soapbox.

We did this in August. We played the Golden Nugget course. It was a nice resort course. Driveable par 4 in front of the clubhouse. Pretty terrible cart girl but it was raining. It exceeded my expectations for the golf and casino. Watch out for alligators. They were everywhere.

Talking Stick is very nice. Golf wasn't bad either. I wouldn't choose the course over other options, but it is not a bad choice. O'odham course is wide open. Should make for a fun bachelor party round. Party pool at the resort was pretty cool. Very short uber to old towne and popular dinner spots and bars. Don't know about nudie bars. Someone else will have to fill you in on that front. I imagine if you have the money and the desire, there will be something to make you happy on that front.

Not everyone is looking for heat stroke.

Especially when most sane people would only want to play out there at first or last light. Which is completely counterproductive to the nightlife component of the trip which appears to be just as important as the golf for this trip. And that come from someone really enjoyed Vegas in the past.

Not to mention that while Vegas has always been an overpriced tourist trap, right now it's just plane ridiculous for the accommodations and food and booze.

We are playing Golden Nugget Sunday, Contraband Bayou Monday, and Kasati Pines on Tuesday.

My vote would be Scottsdale. Plenty of great golf options and depending on what games you're playing and how much you're betting, Talking Stick is fine. The "high limit" area is only $25 and you avoid having to pay for drinks. If you're betting under that, you've got to pay for drinks.

I think you meant to reply to the OP. I live here so I was just making a comment about TS in particular not looking for suggestions.

I think for a bachelor party Talking Stick golf is good because maybe everyone isn't really good and the courses give you a chance.

And vegas is vegas

Haven't done Tahoe is it or outside of vegas like henderson.

Golden Nugget and Contraband are both great courses. Fun layouts and challenging, especially GN. Haven't played Kosati yet, but it shows up in all the best Louisiana courses lists. You will have a fantastic time at all three.

WKP isn't in Scottsdale, but it is close enough. I've played both courses there and loved it, but we didnt ever go inside the casino so I have no knowledge of the gambling there. Depending on time frame I'd love to go back and let my BIL and friends experience it. The courses are fantastic.

I'll look into Biloxi as well. That could be a good option as well. Thanks for the recs everyone.

I was just saying everyone says Scottsdale when they come here for golf when We Ko Pa, Quintero, etc aren't in Scottsdale. I'm partial but I don't think We Ko Pa can be beat for golf and views. Casino doesn't have craps.

Early fall you'll have to watch out for overseed season in Vegas and Arizona.

Scratch Arizona. It's cheap in the summer but hot as hell which I'm sure you know. Early fall is overseed and the courses are just now reopening and are typically cart path only for at least 2 weeks. Finding courses open in October is tough.

French Lick has two great courses and casino gaming. Worth a look if golf is a priority.
Vegas if casinos and partying are the priority.

Hard Rock in Tulsa has a nice course if you're looking for something quick and cheap.
