Hey Ags. Looks like I'll be moving south of Fort Worth and wondering what my CC options are in that area. I will be near Godley but don't mind driving a bit. What are my options? Is there a country club in Cleburne? I don't see one on the map. I know the deal at Ridglea and it's okay. Don't necessarily want to pay the high initiation but will if I have to. This is the only golf forum I look at so thought y'all might steer me in the direction. Thanks in advance.

Squaw Valley in glen rose is an excellent public option. Not sure if Sugar Tree has gone private or still has public play.

Looks like there are a ton of options on Lake Granbury. Not familiar with them though.

Thanks. I do plan on checking out Squaw Valley next time I'm in the area. Also, I've played Sugar Tree and know the pro there. Not my favorite course but will play it every once in a while. Also, kinda tricky to get there from where I'll be. I think about an hour.

One other thing. The Cleburne golf course is public but a fun track.

Cleburne has The Retreat, but I believe you have to own property out there to be a member.

Granbury has Harbor Lakes (semi) and then Pecan Plantation (two courses) and DeCordova, where again, you have to own property.

Mira Vista is off Bryant Irvin in South Fort Worth.

BlueJack Ranch is Tiger's new development in Aledo, but I don't think it will start play until 2027. I'm guessing you'll need to own property.

Several decent public options available in the general area as mentioned. I'm in the area if you're ever looking to get out and play.

I'm a member at Sugar Tree. I advise anyone playing it to just leave their driver at home

Wife and I joined Mira Vista about 6 months ago and love it. Course closed for a full year for renovations and just reopened 2 weeks ago. I would offer to host you but they aren't allowing guests until spring I believe.

We toured Ridglea and River Crest also. River Crest is nice, feels like more of a social club with a golf course attached. They are land locked and lack the space to have many different tee boxes to play from. Practice facilities are also limited. Ridglea is also in good shape. They are closing the south course for a full renovation soon. I've heard it can be challenging to get tee times unless you set an alarm and play the lottery games. That was with 2 open courses, I can only imagine it will get more difficult with only 1 for a year.

All in all Mira Vista stood out to us as the clear #1 choice for us. Also would be easy access to you since it's on the south side of town right off the tollway. Feel free to message me if you have any specific questions. I'll link a YouTube video showing the new renovations

Thanks for the info Mr 1024. I'm aware of Mira Vista. Not opposed to checking into it but I will wait to see if I know any members there. I very well may through work. Just don't want to throw down the money and end up not having anyone to play with.

Regarding Ridglea, it's on my radar and I do have some folks to play with there.

De Cordova Bend has some lots available if you're just looking to become a member and not have a home there. You wouldn't be able to build on it as it's a very small lot, but it allows you to own property and therefore be a member.

Don't have to own property for BlueJack Ranch, and it should open in fall 2026. Maverick close by does require property ownership, though.

Ridgewood in Waco might be an option. From Godley it's only a little farther than Mira Vista/Ridglea.

I must have been thinking of Grandview instead.
