It's a great magazine. Really well written and probably the only publication I truly read cover to cover . And access to the events is a nice perk though pricy. I previously overlooked your point about Fried Egg. Just checked them out.

While the community doesn't seem as robust as BTS, there are some very good opportunities there as well to play some courses I'd like to check out. Plus it appears that they are big on course architecture which I like.

I think a legitimate plan for future years would be to organize a large enough group through the board to book before it opens to the masses. Even its 4 separate 4somes of Texags strangers, just book as a group of 16 for the rooms and tee times.

I heard that they have a ton of land up there and could something crazy like a dozen courses.

Hopefully that's true. The demand sure seems to be there for expansion!

They have a short course in the works I believe, but I was just listening to a podcast the other day and they said they were pausing on any new development.

Bumping this. Leave Monday. Tuesday afternoon Sandbox. Mammoth Dunes Wednesday morning and Sand Valley that afternoon (packing my ibuprofen for that one). Lido Thursday morning and Sedge Valley Friday morning. Flying back Saturday.

We're also getting a FootJoy shoe fitting experience where they do molds of our feet and make a shoe thats fit just for us. A new pair of shoes included. Im not a big picture taking guy but will try and post some updates.

Awesome, thanks to you I signed up for the GJ and went to We-ko-pa with them. They do a great job, leave space in your bag for all the swag they load you up on.

Yep, it kicked my ass too it's really hard. So many bunkers and hidden trouble. I kept wondering how people played that course back in the day.

Sedge Valley today. Very fun layout and much more enjoyable. In order of courses I'd play again they are

1. Sedge
2. Sand Valley
3. Mammoth

Lido doesn't even get ranked. F that place.

I just got notice today that I was selected for Trinity Forest in November. Its nowhere near as big a deal as Sand Valley, but its my first year as a subscriber of BTS and I'm just glad I got selected for something.

I figure I can also try to scratch some other DFW courses off the list while I'm up there.

Just got done with three days out there. Such an awesome place, the facilities are top tier. We did Sedge and Sandbox day one, Sand Valley and Mammoth Dunes day two, then Lido day three. My legs are absolutely toast but it was well worth it.

My rankings:
1 - lido
2 - sedge
3 - mammoth
4 - sand valley

The shame of Lido is that most everyone who ever plays it is only going to get to play it once. It is probably the most quintessential course where you look back from the green after a hole and say "oooooh. Ok. Next time I would....".

After our trip out there is was definitely the one we agreed was the least fun, but at the same time the best course.
