Has anyone here tried either brand? Both are direct to customer club companies and have done well in the recent My Golf Spy testing.

I have sub 70 699 pros. I like them. Good forgiveness without looking like a shovel.

I bought my son a Sub 70 Sycamore 007 putter for his birthday back in October. Its a very well done milled 8802 style putter. I would not be afraid to buy another putter from them.

I have the NL 902 PD irons and love them. Great shape and feel great. Thin sole, minimal offset, and pre-worn leading edge are amazing.

I'm demoing the Sub 70 949x 3 wood right now. I love it and will be buying that (or a 4 wood) along with probably some wedges and maybe a hybrid down the road.

I played my demo 949x 3 wood again yesterday and i absolutely nuked that thing. Was playing with a guy with a SIM 2 3 wood and we usually hit similar distances. We both teed off with 3 wood on a short par 4 and he hit a beautiful baby draw that i figured rolled out forever and i just blasted a straight ball with perfect trajectory. Got to the fairway and one ball was about 20 yards in front of the other and I assumed his was the further one. I was wrong.

I have an order for a 4 wood in now that i'm waiting on and i think a couple JB FG wedges are my next move. I have an older set of Vokey SM5s so it's time.

What shaft are you using in the 3wood?

The demo club had the Project X Sub 70 High Launch shaft. It launches a little high for my liking, so I ordered my 4 wood with a Project X HZRDS Smoke Red RDX to match my driver.

Have you tried their hybrids? I'm still swinging '96 big bertha fairway woods (3 & 5). I'm striking the 3W about 50% of the time and 70% on the 5. Was going to replace the 3W with a 3H based on the few reviews I've found.

Their sales person (Shane) recommended a 4W and 5H at the top of my bag.

Did you get fit for them or order online knowing your specs?

I am curious as they as the PD's were rated high on mygolfspy and they are reasonably priced.

No I haven't - pretty happy with my current hybrid I think but after I get my 4w I need to gap between that and my 4i.

The 949x hybrid seems to be very similar to the wood, so I wouldn't have a problem gaming it.

I have a the sub70 putter pictured below. I don't hate it, but I can't get used to it. The weight feels too weird for me. Head is heavy and the shaft is super light. So I am searching again. Will keep this one as a backup.




The putter below is my old putter. The screen on the face came off and messed up the feel.

The 3H is the easiest club to hit in my bag and I've upgraded all my old big bertha irons to Rogue ST max's. It's a rocket launcher, perfectly balanced and I look for opportunities to use it. The 3W demo club came in and I'll give it a go next week.

anyone have any comments or input on the sub70 699 irons? I'm being tempted very badly right now and I have the itch to get something new to replace my current 716 AP1's.
