The diminished Big 12 is a crutch for Tech, and when it's kicked away Tech falls on their face.

As for TEXAS. It's about us. not any conference. they come and go. But if you lined up the SEC and Big 12 this season and played best on best, and then all the way down to where Okie state is playing Arkansas. The big 12 would get smashed.

And since in the post season teams suffer so badly in the transfer portal with abandonments, the post season results are a terrible barometer to judge quality. And the OP link is meaningless content.
But it's no surprise the techsters are here lauding this nothingburger article. hahaha, looking at the little picture.

The SEC has choked itself out. Enjoy the lot you've cast for yourself.

Texas will start next season ranked higher than Tech, and finish ranked lower. Same as this year.

The SEC made this mess. Now wallow in it.

You're wrong on just about everything.
UT seeks to play and beat the top competition early, middle and late, and make the most money. There's nothing more honest and wholesome than that. which I guess is what drives you crazy. and you can't even take any satisfaction and pride over your big 12 championship trophy.

And Tech will continue to dominate a lackluster conference, boast about being "great," and then get exposed by better and more battle-tested teams. That showing against Oregon was pathetic, especially after all the crowing coming out of Lubbock.

Congrats, you're the tallest midget. You'll be that way until you join a better conference. Until then, the SEC will remain exceptionally relevant, interesting, and competitive.

Tech played in the quarterfinals of the CFP this year.

How did Texas do?

Oh that's right. I remember. Texas was ranked #1 in the nation. Until they played against real competition, which took… one week?

Congrats. Epic season. Y'all crushed it.

Defense was as advertised. Offense was offensive. Tech got crushed by Oregon. We were even worse than A&M's showing against a 2 loss ACC team. Oh well. Reload and try again. Tech has a clearer path to the CFP next season than UT, A&M and OU. And Tech will get better, because of the generous rules that the SEC and B1G put in place.

It's pretty cool being the favorite in a P4 conference, with the best facilities in the nation, and a massively strong NIL program. And it will be that way for a while to come.

Tallest midget? Okay. Better than shortest giant in this particular environment.

You just don't get it. when Tech finally played a decent team, you couldn't score a single point even though you had your full squad tanned rested and ready. That's who you are.

… and when Texas played a decent team what happened exactly?

Or Florida? Or Miss St and Kentucky? Super nice OT wins there. Well done.

Texas does less with more than any team in the nation and it's been that way for decades.

But this article isn't about Texas. Or about A&M. It's about how the rules of the game have changed because the SEC got greedy and now we see yet another year where the SEC isn't winning a natty despite getting 5 teams in a 12 team field. And this year won't even make the final. This despite literally writing the rules for how college football is played.

1-8 in bowl season?

yeah. Not real sure who the midgets are, but I have a good idea.

And yeah, it's amazing what happens when a quarterback has a bad day.

Oregon clobbered Tech. And IU is clobbering Oregon. Will be interesting to see how Miami fares playing at home for the natty.

you're overly emotional with an inferiority complex that just won't let you think logically. Do you understand that if you played the schedule Texas and Texas A&M played and faced the SEC defenses + Ohio State or Notre Dame, your record would have been different? And you wouldn't have made the playoffs? do you get even that?

The team we lost to is playing for a natty and took down Ohio State as part of the journey. We were a boneheaded end zone pass away from tying them late. Statistically, A&M also outplayed Miami. Tech, on the other hand, was never in it against Oregon. Did Tech even cross the 50? "Great" teams don't look like that.

Tech in 2025 reminds me of early 90s A&M. Dominant defense that played in a dogsh*t conference and lacked offensive ability. We'd get exposed by FSU or Notre Dame. You guys are VERY similar.

Wouldn't have made the playoffs? You mean like Texas?

Maybe. I don't know. You don't either.

More importantly - I don't care. Tech is playing the hand that Tech was dealt. It resulted in a higher finish than Texas or OU, who were too good for the Big 12.

I have discovered that SEC teams are the very best in the world in hypothetical matchups… Which won the SEC a 1-8 record and no teams in the final with five teams in the mix. So YAY for hypothetical championships!

Tech will be ranked in the top 10 at the end of the season by every single measure that matters, placed there by AP and Coaches Poll voters and the CFP. You can talk that down all you like, only their opinions matter more than yours.

Getting in the game matters and the game is the CFP. Tech got there. Didn't end as I'd hoped, but oh well. Trending up. Try again next year.

As a Tech fan, I can say with confidence that Tech is being discussed on the national stage, and I think that's pretty cool. We haven't really had that before. Tech has about 5 years I would guess to land in whatever conference and division arrangement comes next. Tech is doing the things it needs to do to be relevant in that discussion.

i get that you don't like it, but that's on you, buttercup.

Texas Tech vs James Madison would have been a good game in the same weight class, Sunbelt champ vs Big 12 champ. Oregon btho of both of you.

Yup. That's a fair and accurate assessment. Tech had a stellar defense this year but the offense sucked, especially when it counted.

So it's on Tech to get better this year. Signed the #1 player in the portal (and #5) and played the best hand we could with Coleman, whom I don't think we will get.

Recruiting class is currently ranked #17-ish, which is still behind UT and A&M but is nothing to sneeze at.

Tech had a great season, but not great enough to win a national title, obviously. Same with A&M. Same with UT.

All the conferences are top-heavy. All of them. Indiana tonight looks like the most balanced team I remember seeing years and years. That's what it's going to take and that's why there is a thread on TexAgs following the portal activity with literally millions of views (same on RRS). It's a war.

I'm guessing your eyes are brown because you are so full of *****

Oregon would skull drag Texas.

see how fun hypothetical games are? I can just make stuff up too.

We'll never know how Texas would handle Oregon because, you know, that would have meant Texas would have to have actually been in the playoffs.

I think JMU vs Texas Tech would have been a good one. that's all I said.

But if they're going to let these teams with weak schedules into the CFP, they should have them play one another early, so at least we get the best of the worst going forward in the brackets.

Nope. It was a great game as it showed how good Indiana is and how Oregon was overrated. Also shows how poorly tech played. Tech better be glad they weren't seeded against the Hoosiers…..score could have been 70-0. Things change , like you techsters said, when you're playing "the big boys".

UT seeks to play and beat the top competition early, middle and late, and make the most money. There's nothing more honest and wholesome than that. which I guess is what drives you crazy. and you can't even take any satisfaction and pride over your big 12 championship trophy.

If UT's aim was to play and beat top competition, why did it stay in the Big12 for so long?

Because UT doesn't really care about playing top competition. It didn't join the SEC for increased competition. If both conferences had the same payout, UT would've stayed in the Big12. UT knew it had to escape the Big12 before schools in the SEC/B1G began lapping it in revenue. If ESPN didn't have UT by the shorthairs it would have been able to join the B1G and make even more money.

I assume this intellectual dishonesty is just part of your shtick, much like Mr. "Stay Tuned".

TEXAS plays Ohio state again in September, and don't play the traditional SEC cupcake midseason (like citidael) so we can play our traditional rivals (who are good) every year. Was A&M running away (y'all said so) to get out of our shadow ?
