My GF and I are traveling to Greece for two weeks in June for a wedding. Flying into Athens, wedding in Ios, then looking at going to Milos and Paros.

Any recommendations? or must see's outside of what you can look up by saying "what to do in Greece"

I thought Delphi was an amazing place to visit and there was a small town on the way there call Arachova that was great too.

Do not spend more than one day in Athens. You can do it all in one. Get out as fast as you can.

Agree with this. Knock out walking around etc the afternoon you get in and hit the acropolis the following morning and get early afternoon flight out of Athens

I would stay 3-4 days in Naxos. Make sure you get a car and drive into the mountain town chalki. We stayed at 18 grapes and it was walkable to the beach. Not the greatest location but the hotel was wonderful
Also enjoyed Paros.

I agree that Athens can be done quickly but I do think it deserves some time. Certainly if you have two weeks.

Definitely gate drop the Acropolis and hurry to the top. My wife and I had it all to ourselves for about 5-10 minutes.

I'm not a big museum guy, but the National Archaeological Museum in Athens is the best I've been to. It really illustrated the evolution of human civilization around the Mediterranean. Connected some dots for me.

Another Athens highlight for us was The Low Profile Whisky Bar.

We took a daytrip to Delphi with a private driver. He was excellent.

In Milos, we sailed with Oscar Private Sailing. I highly recommend this! Another day in Milos we rented an ATV and visited various beaches and cafes around the island. We were able to cliff dive at Sarakiniko this day.

Oia in Santorini is worth two nights if you want to splurge.

Athens is great! I find most people who do not like Athens are just not city people and that is fine. To each their own. I agree it is not worth more then a couple of days but their are great restaurants/bars (at much lower then most big city prices.) in Kolonaki which just a short walk away from the historic sites and most of the hotels in Plaka.

Take the funicular to the top Mount Lycabettus in Kolonaki and watch the sunset, looking down on the floodlet acropolis, Olympic stadium, seeing all the way to the Aegean all while knocking down some cold Greek beer. Pretty great! Have not eaten at the restaurant and sure it is overpriced as views like that usually are.
