We are going to be in Grapevine in late November for a family weekend (kickoff to the Christmas season). Plan on going to ICE at the Gaylord and visit downtown Grapevine to take in the Christmas decor. Any other suggestions on things we should do or places we should eat? Kids are 15 & 12. Thanks in advance.

Look at Grandscape in The Colony. It's close to Grapevine. Tons of fun stuff for kids. Check out a show/game at Cosm if you can.

Meat u anywhere bbq is very close to main street. Quite good even for breakfast with their breakfast tacos.

Esparzas is the spot for margaritas just off of main street

If you want Italian, go to Cafe Italia but not the one closest to main street

Grew up in the area and am still close, ask away

Ooo I'll add Tommy tamale to the list too

Chama Gaucha for a Brazilian steakhouse

Kids might light the standard Main Event bowling, arcade etc

Texas Gun Experience to shoot some fully autos

Sabai Sabai for some good thai/lao/vietnamese (takeout as theres no ambiance to it at all)

I would not say The Colony is close to grapevine.

If The Colony is close then so is downtown Fort Worth and downtown Dallas. Grapevine is centrally located but definitely not "close" to any. Colony is close to plano and plano is not close to Grapevine FWIW

Curious as we enjoy going to the one close to Main St and have never been to the one over by the football stadium further west.

Are the same owners / menu? And appreciate your suggestions. We live over in FloMo and need to add a couple of these places to our list. Thanks!

To be honest, I'm not sure. I don't think so though because one of the great waiters at the Ira E Woods location, Nick, never is at the other one. I believe he is the owner's son. Ask him for a magic trick if the kids are with ya. The one near the football stadium is the one that gets all the local awards.

Takes me about 20 to 25 to get to dallas and fort worth, depending on where exactly and traffic. So as I said

I don't know if the botanical gardens will be setup for Christmas yet, but we did them at night last year the week after Christmas and we thoroughly enjoyed it (even the 15 year old). Essentially all the plants are dead but it is decked out in lights.

We also did the aquarium.

Figure out when they're doing the Christmas drone show, then get there very early to find parking. Go ice skating at the rink set up in front of the Hotel Vin. See if the Christmas train from grapevine to the stockyards is sold out yet. Go to the Arboretum for their Christmas setup, it is pretty spectacular. Personally not the biggest fan of the Gaylord stuff in recent years (used to be better but IMO now it's just expensive but not that great, YMMV).
We really like Chez Fabien on Main street for food. Their Lobster Grilled Cheese + Bisque is amazing. Bob's Steak house for something fancier, or Mac's on Main. Weinberger's Deli is a staple but will be a zoo all of the holiday season.

Mi Dia isn't as good as it had been but if there's not a wait or there's open seats around the bar then I'd do that too. Same complex at the start of main street
