Looking at 3 day/2 night getaway to the NFR. Also catching a show that we want to see on day 1.

I'm a bit overwhelmed with the lodging choices, choosing places for dinner reservations, etc.

suggestions?

Do you want to stay on the main strip or closer to the Thomas & Mack Center? IME after filtering for budget and or hotel brand preference (loyalty) the options are much more manageable.

Clients have loved Fontainebleau & Four Seasons but there are so many options to pick from without filtering.

Happy to answer any questions!

No real preference on brand, although I think I have status with IHG. Closer to T&M would probably be preferable.

If you're looking for standard hotels with close proximity to T&M, I'd suggest Hyatt Place Las Vegas or Double Tree East Flamingo.

If you want a little more of a fun hotel, I'd recommend The Westin Las Vegas Hotel & Spa. Closer to the main attractions but quieter than the hotels on the main drag.

I've done that trip many times and plan on it again this year.

If you want to buy some rodeo tickets, in the nosebleed seats, I can hook you up.

A lot of the hotels have free shuttle buses too and from the rodeo. They are chartered buses and they probably have 40-50 of them running. It works great. So I'd say proximity to T&M is meaningless.

The monorail works well for getting to and from Cowboy Christmas.

SouthPoint has team roping all day long and a shopping deal. But it's a $50+ cab ride from the strip I think.

Hotels, it really depends on what you want.
Strip experience? Downtown? SouthPoint? Regular hotel?
If you're new to Vegas, I'd suggest staying on the Strip. It's a spectacle in and of itself. I think the Venetian is fantastic. But that's a hard question without knowing more about you and what you're looking for. Tell me more.

Where's the show you're going to?

Haven't ever been to Vegas, so I guess the strip is where we should look. Show is at a venue called The Space.

I appreciate the ticket offer, but I think we're going to try to get 'OK' tickets a bit closer to December.

I looked it up and The Space looks to be a short cab ride/uber from the Strip.

There are some other Vegas threads here with good restaurant recommendations. Paris has some restaurants that are out on the strip, that makes for a fun people watching experience. It might get a bit chilly, but they'll have heaters out.

For buying tickets, I'd only buy them off stubhub. I get the feeling there are a lot of ticket scammers out there.

It's a fun experience! Enjoy it!

There's really not a bad seat in the Thomas & Mack Center to watch the Rodeo. Even the nosebleed seats aren't bad. We've been several times and lots of hotels on the strip have shuttles that go from the hotel to the T&M. chris1515 has given good info and it just depends on what kind of experience you're looking for. Vegas during NFR has a different feel than other times because it's filled with rodeo fans and it's a different vibe than say March Madness. Go and have a good time. We'll be there 12-10 - 12-13 staying at NYNY.

If you go to Cowboy Christmas, buckle up because it's freakin' HUGE. I go for about 15 minutes to talk to one of the vendors that I've known for a long time. Then I'm out while the wife shops.

Turnpike Troubadours just announced as performers at Hooey Party on Friday the 12th at Brooklyn Bowl located at The Linq Promenade. Basically right by the High Roller wheel. Tickets go on sale to general public this Friday at noon. I think VIP tickets for second deck were $90 last year for Zach Top. It's always a great party.

If you want true Rodeo Action all the way around, South Point is the place to stay. But it is not on the strip. Unsure of schedule but they do have a rodeo arena at the casino for like the lesser known rodeo associations like the team roping association and what not. Honestly, if only going for 2-3 days, your gonna spend an entire day at cowboy christmas. It's huge, and there's another one we didn't even make it to.
I live in waco....therefore, I am ready to move elsewhere.

SouthPoint has team roping pretty much all day long.

Cowboy Christmas at the convention center is enormous, and the SouthPoint has a similar shopping setup that isn't quite as big, but still impressive.
There's usually another one sponsored by Stetson, it was at the Horseshoe last year. It was much smaller and less impressive.

Chris do you still have tickets available? Trying to price out a trip but no idea where to start.

What night are you interested in?
The final night usually is twice as expensive as any other night. The mid week Tue/Wed seems to be cheapest nights.

Check stubhub, there are tickets there already.

Upper level will be $100-250 depending on the nights is my guess. That gets you in the ballpark. Might find some for less on a very low night.

If it's a once in a lifetime trip, I'd sure check out the more expensive options (and they can be very expensive!)

Google NFR Experience. Check out the website and download the app. There is a ton of information on that site. Maps and vendor list of Cowboy Christmas, list of after parties and concerts, free shuttle info, etc. Best advice I can give for getting in and out of Thomas & Mack is go early and plan to be there for a while afterwards. Traffic before and after will be bad. We always shuttle there, and I usually have a pre-arranged car service pick us up. The limo lot has a dedicated route, and you can get out much faster if you're going to a show or concert afterwards.
