Has anyone done a private tour of the Battle of the Bulge sites in and around Bastogne? My husband and I visited the war museums in the area around ten years ago and they were fantastic and very informative.

We are now planning a family trip (10 total people) and are looking for a more in depth experience. Any recommendations?

Private tour no but, I think I posted in the History Board, my stuff from when I went to Bastogne in 2017.

I did a couple of museums and went to Easy Company's (101 ABN - Band of Brothers) foxholes near Foy.

Also, a don't miss the American and German cemeteries in Luxembourg.

if you have an interest the Hakenberg Fort of the Maginot Line defense is a great tour. My dad fought in the the area during WWII and it was a real treat to see the fort.

The wife and I did the Band of Brothers Traveling Aggies trip last year. Best trip ever. Had actors on the trip and historians. Started in London, then followed the path of Easy Company all the way into Germany. Bastogne was the part I was looking forward to the most, and it didn't disappoint.

Thanks for much for the pictures. Right now I am reading "The Longest Winter", which is about the Battle of the Bulge. One of you pictures, which is a clearing about 2 FB fields long, is talked about in the book by one of the soldiers involved. Your picture helps give me a better understanding of what they faced.

This is George Patton's grave at the US Cemetery in Luxembourg



This is the German Cemetery near the US one in Luxembourg



These are foxholes dug by Easy Company 101 ABN during December 1944 before their assault on Foy.
The crazy thing about it is, that you can see Foy probably 1km away.

Those men must froze their butts off for a month watching that town which looks like you could just walk over there for a cup of coffee.

Thanks so much for the pictures. They really bring to life your experience on your trip. The amount of suffering our troops experienced is overwhelming but yet they stayed the course. My wife and I took a tour of the Colmar pocket near Colmar, France. This is the area where Audie Murphy, with the 3rd infantry division, won the Medal of Honor. We toured the site where he held off German mountain hunters near the town of Holtzwihr. Amazing courage.
