I bought a Level8 hard shell with the external laptop compartment. Happy with it. I don't fly as often as many of you, though.

I just bought this backpack for 1-2 night business travel. Works as a laptop backpack and carry-on "suitcase" in one. Very happy with this.

I got a TravelPro as a graduation present 15 years ago. Still doing great.
