With the family. Two boys, 13 and 10 and the wife. Wife will be at a conference some of the time and the boys and I need something to do.

Meh it's kind of like New Orleans without the food. There's country music stuff. There's the Greek area. There's a river possibly. There's a NHL and NFL team. Dave Ramsey?

I'd say it's more like Austin but even more white people. One of the things I really enjoyed was the Country Music Hall of Fame. Can easily spend a few hours there and it's kid-friendly. Plus it's right there downtown next to everything. Hockey season is over (pretty much) and football isn't here yet. I'd say catch a show somewhere (easy to do), get a hot chicken somewhere, go run around at Centennial Park.

Are the kids into sports? Nashville SC games are fun and the stadium is very nice. . Same for Sounders games. I think there's a zip lining place in Franklin that also has mini golf. My son has lived there for a little over a year. He just moved to Franklin- 20ish minutes south- we're big fans. They have a super cute downtown area and the music scene is much more relaxed and authentic. Leipers Fork is also a nice place for a few hours if you'll have a car. I've heard the Nashville zoo is great but I haven't been. Have fun.

Recently went for a long weekend, the best thing we did by far was to catch a show at The Listening Room. For the ticketed shows, you can get a table and have brunch or dinner there during the show.

Also:
Brunch at Adele's (near a bunch of outdoor shopping if that's your thing)
Third Man Records - Jack White's studio and record store, you can book a tour

The Country Music Hall of Fame is ok, but there is a ton of space dedicated to crappy modern country artists. With kids I'd be afraid you'd bore them a bit.

The Dukes of Hazzard museum is in Nashville, but a bit of a haul, and once you get there it's really just a store filed with DoH merchandise from the 70s and some vehicles you can take your picture in.

Y'all can skip The Parthenon, or if you do go, it definitely isn't worth paying the fee to tour the inside.

I really didn't realize what a "Bachelorette Party" destination Nashville was before going. Everywhere you go, you will be surrounded by pedal pubs and flat trucks carrying drunk girs yelling "Whoooo!" from about 10am forward. Broadway area is a disaster.

If you're into history a trip to The Hermitage is nice.

The Grand Ole Opry is fun. Also the Station Inn has some family friendly nights for live music.
